Scottish New Year in an a great hotel.

Advantages: good location, lovely hotel, nice food
Disadvantages: expensive but worth it

I remember staying at this hotel 15 years and thinking "this is OK but it could be amazing. Aviemore is a great town, in a lovely part of Scotland and this hotel should be a hotel of flagship standards . . " well now it is! I spent three nights here over the new year period and it has far surpassed anything it ever was. I was in a double room which was a decent size, not huge but enough room for the two of us. Very relaxing and fun long-weekend

Most of the workers we met in the hotel, cafes and shops were from other countries and most of the tourists were from abroad as well. The Star Hotel, Kingussie

Advantages: Great Value for Money

...I have just returned from The Star Hotel, the hotel while being old fashioned it is extremelly clean and the staff very helpful and pleasant, the food is excellant I defy anyone to find better value for the money, the day before I arrived I injured my back and the girl on reception called Tanya kept heating my back pad in the microwave oven for me, she is a little treasure, on our second day we booked to return in March 2009 and we are looking forward ...
