Highly recommended Advantages: Clean, easy to find, secure and safe and of course excellent service Disadvantages: none found ...We met few people at da Vinci guest house who had also stayed Da Vinci guest house before and they all spoke highly . Excellent place to stay. Clean , quite and comfortable. Good breakfast , free tea and coffee facilities available at any time. The Owner was very helpfull and friendly . It seemed they were imroving the guest house all the time . It is a very safe and secure place with secure on site car park. A Room with a Loo Advantages: Close to the town, good cooked breakfast, all ensuite, comforable beds and ample tea/coffee Disadvantages: noise levels at times at the front of the hotel only. ...I then came across Emsley Guest House and thought it looked lovely on the photos; I also liked the fact it had its own website and a phone number supplied so I could ask questions as I do have some needs that will have to be considered when it comes to my mobility. I rang up the hotel to find that they were fully booked for the weekend, but could offer us two nights for Thursday and Friday at £70.00 for the room per night. Premier Inn Mere - Quiet and Comfortable Advantages: Clean, very comfortable rooms, affordable, friendly staff,peaceful location Disadvantages: Car is needed We stayed in this Premier Inn, which is attached to the Kilton Inn on a Saturday night. Our stay was extremely comfortable and pleasant. Rooms We stayed in a double room on the ground floor. The rooms are decorated to a modern and good standard. In our room we had, a kettle, hairdryer, TV, heating controls, desk, bedside tables, chair, and a huge and very comfortable double bed. The linen and towels were plentiful and extremely clean. The bathroom ... ...delicious. Booking All Premier Inns can be booked online or over the phone. We tried to book our overnight stay on the phone, but we were told they were fully booked. Luckily we were hosting a party in the attached Kilton Inn, and spoke to the manager, she went and asked the receptionist for us and they managed to find us a room. The best little find we had! Advantages: beautiful food Disadvantages: none! The Old Well When my husband and I were looking for somewhere to go for a short break we trawled through the internet and had our eyes set on somewhere around Carlisle, however, whilst browsing we came across The Old Well Inn in a place called Barnard Castle. We had never heard of it before but the hotel was offering a fantastic deal which we just couldn't believe could be true- three nights stay with dinner, bed and breakfast plus a free ... ...is the ruins of the old castle which is really very much a ruin and nothing more but fun to look around and imagine what it once looked like. The river Tees and it's boats are also a feature of this town and if you want to g et in your car then Raby castle is another attraction you could visit whilst staying here.
