Bargain Breaks. Advantages: Easy to book. Disadvantages: Some restrictions on booking. ...Internet we came across the Jarvis Hotels web site (http://www.jarvis.co.uk) and saw that they were advertising weekend breaks at up to 50% off the usual cost. The number of places on offer were restricted and bookings could only be made for Friday, Saturday or Sunday nights. The other conditions were that there had to be two people sharing the room, you had to book for two consecutive nights and you had to pay in advance. The road to Southampton... #2 Advantages: Friendly and helpful staff, good condition room Disadvantages: Hall smelt of damp, not a very efficient cleaning schedule ...room was, like the Eastleigh Travelodge, equipped with what the nation expects from a Travelodge: TV, Bedding, Tea & Coffee making facilities and a menu for the Little Chef next door which served surprisingly nice food - not how I remember Little Chef anyway! Holiday Inn Shepperton - prebooked? Beware - if you cancel Advantages: NONE Disadvantages: ALL ...to cancel the stay with Holiday Inn re the current extreme bad weather problems for the journey by car from the North West for my 93 year old mother whose health would not be up to making such a potentially dangerous / uncertain journey. Holiday Inn Shepperton have refused to give us a refund for cancellation of the booking which we find unbelievable given the current weather conditions. Its the Holiday Inn attitude that pees me off, basically ... ...had a problem with a Holiday Inn booking in the '80s in the USA - wishing to transfer from a Holiday Inn in Hollywood where we had been staying to one at Anaheim - they made the transfer ok - but still charged us for the days stay not taken at Hollywood !
