You'd be better off at a campsite!

Advantages: Umm...
Disadvantages: Just about everything, I think!

Ah, the George. Local to me, last October I went in for Sunday lunch with a friend. I should have heard the warning bells ringing when I was served barely-cooked beef and cold cauliflower, but everyone makes mistakes - right? The waitress was not at all apologetic; she merely looked inconvenienced; however she did return with a fresh meal. Hurrah. The following evening, I was in town with my fiancé and we decided to pop in for a bite to eat anyway. ...
...serving from the lounge menu, at which point she held her hand up to us and said impatiently: 'I'll be back in a minute, yeah?!' So my fiancé stood and waited. And waited. She came back from what she was doing, walked straight past us several times, and completely ignored us for a further ten minutes as she chatted to a colleague. At this point we decided to go elsewhere for dinner. Having already booked two hotel rooms for the night before my wedding, ...

Premier Inn Brilliant Hotel

Advantages: comfatable bed, great shower, cleanliness brilliant.
Disadvantages: none

Me and my partner and another couple went down to Colchester to visit our friends, and we decided to stay in this hotel as it was around the corner from ther house. The price of the room for the night was average for a decent hotel. On arrival to the hotel we were greeted by the receptionist and they were very polite, once we had checked in we went to put our luggage in our rooms. The rooms themselves were lovely and very cosy, they were very clean ...
...average bathroom with a shower over the bath and it was vary powerfull so the shower was great. Also we had a television showing all the basic channels and a few extas. There was a tea tray with tea/coffee/sugar and milk which was lovely to wake up to. the bedroom also had a couch underneath the window which was a nice extra. Overall this hotel was lovely and we will definatly be staying ther next time we visit our friends. ...

Riverside Hotel Colchester

Advantages: Location
Disadvantages: Cleanliness or lack of it

This hotel is awful. It is really rundown and not very well kept. On arrival there was nobody on reception to greet customers and you had to phone a number to speak to anyone. The bedroom itself was filthy, the valance on the bed was completely stained, there was cigarette ash in the teabag bowl, it was disgusting. To top if off they took the full amount off our credit card before we arrived, then packed our belongings while we were at my sisters ...

Review of Riverside Hotel, Colchester

Lovely location, shame it's not a hotel any more!

Advantages: Convenient, picturesque location
Disadvantages: A bit pricey at £46,500 a night!

The Mill, also known for a while as The Quality Hotel, stands on a picturesque historic site by the river. It is conveniently located close enough to the town centre to be within walking distance, and is also on several major bus routes, but far enough away to be a sanctuary from all the hustle and bustle. The rooms are modern, spacious and in excellent decorative order, having recently been converted into luxury serviced flats! There are excellent ...
...downside is that 'bookings' must be made well in advance using a solicitor and surveyor, and usually an agent, and availability is never guaranteed. You also need to bring your own furniture. Value for money really depends on how long you stay, with the price per night decreasing with each night. They cost about £325,000 so for a week's stay I would estimate the price per night at approximately £46,500 which is a little pricey. A stay of 17-18 years ...

THE UNFRIENDLY CLUB'' -

Advantages: None
Disadvantages: So many

...will refuse to do especially when they have taken £25 of my good earned cash. They really do not care about their members, they seem to forget that it is us members that keep them in a job. Avoid the camping and caravan club like the plague. ...
