Travelodge - Londonderry
Advantages: Great location, clean Disadvantages: Staff arent great at answering the telephone!
I went to Londonderry in February basically for a cheap weekend away! Dont ask why we chose Londonderry!! But anyway after a short taxi ride we arrived at the hotel which has an impressive building front, taking the lift up we walked into the huge reception area and we checked in without any problems.
The room we had was a basic double room but it was huge! God knows what a suite looked like! We had alot of wardrobes trying to use up the space! ... ...clean!!
We chose not to have breakfast - TIP dont have the hotel breakfast it costs £8.00 per person, go to Wetherspoons next door and a full Irish breakfast costs about £2.00!!!!
Our first night was fine but our second night was completely ruined by a drunk lad kicking all the bedroom doors at 4am in the morning.....after 5 attempts of calling reception they eventually answered and told us they were trying to locate this man!
In the morning we ...

Wrecked Our Wedding
Advantages: Close to City Centre Disadvantages: Terrible Customer Service
This Hotel wrecked our wedding. I booked the Honeymoon Suite 12 months before our wedding, securing the room with my credit card. I confirmed the booking 4 weeks before our 'Big Day'. On our wedding night we went to the Hotel which was only 2 mins away from our Reception. We arrived at 1.30am, my wife was still in her dress and i was still wearing my suit. The door was locked and it was opened by a member of staff. He asked my name, checked his list, ... ...were just married and had booked the Honeymoon Suite, he then checked with his colleague and repeated that we had no reservation. As I understandably became agitated my Wife asked for another room and he said there were no free rooms. He proposed that we could stand just inside the door, as he phoned a taxi to take us away. My wife was so distraught and mortified that she went to the disabled toilet and changed her wedding dress. Whilst my wife was ...

The Trout
Advantages: golf course, fishing & forest walks - minutes away Disadvantages: none
The Brown Trout is a great wee country place. It has a lovely restaurant with great food and selection. The bar is stocked with the locals, Bushmill Whiskey, Guinness etc and is a good place to spend an evening or have a meal. Alo at the Brown trout is a golf course, so bring your clubs, have a meal and a few drinks and then stay in one of the on site rooms they have available, these are small houses and are independent of the main bar and restaurant ... ...to stay as your in the heart of Ulster here with Coleraine and many local tourist locations (Giants Causeway etc) only 15 minutes away and 5 or 6 smaller local towns to explore. Also there are many forrests to go walking or bring your rod and go for a fish and explore the countryside even more by going fishing. To get away from it all spend a few relaxing days here in Ulster's heartland.. ...

Basic ok for overnight stop
Advantages: Central location Disadvantages: Basic ok for overnight and short stays.
Stayed at this hotel on several occassions, usually booked in the Travelodge Sale, and always been satisfied. Rooms are basic and good value when booked at discount, but we feel the Premier nearby offers better value if paying the full rate.
Rooms have basic tea making facilities, bathrooms with showers over and basic tv packages. Beds have always been comfortable and extra bedding provided on request. No on site food service other than the shrink ... ...value. Hotel is next to the main shopping centre in Hemel Hempstead where there are several cafes, all a bit pricey. Several other restaurants nearby.
If opens are open at night, noise can be a problems as this is on the race route around the town centre. Car park is small for the number of rooms and finding a space if arriving late at night can be a problem. Car parks are available nearby at a cost. ...
