Perfect!
Advantages: Wonderful Hotel with lot's to do close by Disadvantages: None i found!
Hiya,
I have just spent a wonderful weekend in this hotel. I booked it as part of my fiance's birthday present. i got a delux executive room for only £95. The room was beautiful, large plasma tv, extra large kingsize bed, my fiance could lie straight across it and his feet didn't hang over (he's 6'2). minibar was reasonable and well stocked, you have free sky or pay per view films and even internet on the tv. the bathroom was marble, with two showers ... ...salts, shampoo etc. iron and trouser press. breakfast was included and could be delivered to your room at no extra cost. the full english is gorgeous and you also get a continental on the side. basically a massive amount of food. the hotel bar is lovely and open till late (we left at 00:15 and they showed no signs of closing) also very reasonably priced. close by is a bowling alley with archade, a family gastro pub and a TGI's if you like your cocktails ...

A casino royale with Amy Johnson
Advantages: Historical significance, attractive art deco frontage Disadvantages: Situated near a busy dual carriageway
...have stayed at the impressive Aerodrome Hotel, which was part of the airport complex. As Croydon Airport gradually lost most of it's civil airline business to Heathrow after the second world war, the airport went into decline, subsequently closing in 1959. The adjacent hotel, however, seems to have gone from strength to strength. A small hotel with just 50 bedrooms originally, it catered mainly for the staff and crew using the airport itself, but ... ...the Forte Posthouse group and the owners now advertise as having a total of 110 bedrooms. I came here for an annual Christmas do last month as I have done for the past couple of years. It's a dinner and dance, this year entitled Casino Night. Four of my friends who do not live locally anymore had booked two twin rooms for the night, so they could stay over, I myself, however, had no so luxury and had to toddle off home afterwards. We've chosen this ...

...will refuse to do especially when they have taken £25 of my good earned cash.
They really do not care about their members, they seem to forget that it is us members that keep them in a job.
Avoid the camping and caravan club like the plague. ...

Holiday Inn Shepperton - prebooked? Beware - if you cancel
Advantages: NONE Disadvantages: ALL
...to cancel the stay with Holiday Inn re the current extreme bad weather problems for the journey by car from the North West for my 93 year old mother whose health would not be up to making such a potentially dangerous / uncertain journey.
Holiday Inn Shepperton have refused to give us a refund for cancellation of the booking which we find unbelievable given the current weather conditions.
Its the Holiday Inn attitude that pees me off, basically ... ...had a problem with a Holiday Inn booking in the '80s in the USA - wishing to transfer from a Holiday Inn in Hollywood where we had been staying to one at Anaheim - they made the transfer ok - but still charged us for the days stay not taken at Hollywood !
BEWARE FOLKS IF YOU MAKE A PREPAID BOOKING WITH HOLIDAY INNS AND THEN NEED TO CANCEL - THEY WILL STILL CHARGE YOU REGARDLESS !! BETTER NOT TO BOOK AT ALL AND JUST TURN UP IF YOU NEED TO USE HOLIDAY ...

A freezing cold with broken heating not so Welcome Cottage
Advantages: nice spacious family holiday home Disadvantages: no help contactable when heating broken in mid-winter
...in Norfolk - arranged though Welcome Cottages, although you can rent this place through other sites like Country Cottages too. The house is owned by Mike Franklin, who would appear to own many holiday lets - he certainly owns number 5 Bure Cottages too.
We arrived at 4pm in deep snow (with more falling) to a house so cold you could see your breath in the living room. The heating was broken and we couldn't find any instructions on who to contact ... ...times in 2 hours) or Welcome cottages (tried them at just after 5pm and they were shut - and no emergency number on ansaphone) Eventually (after 2 hours there with miserable cold 2 + 4 year old) a heating engineer we'd left a message with called us back and talked us through relighting the pilot light. We had to partly dismantle the kitchen cabinet to do this, with our own tools, and there's no way we'd have been able to work this out without the ...
