Premier Travel Inn Dumfries, best by far
Advantages: Rooms, Cheap price, staff Disadvantages: None
I stayed at the Premier Travel Inn in Dumfries just over four years ago for three days and once for a night a couple of years ago.
The first time round it was on a Thursday night arrival for a long weekends partying in preparation for my wedding on the Saturday. We were getting married in a castle just up the road but felt that the Inn offered the ideal cost savings for family and friends to gather before hand and just have a darn food time.
COST
... ...266475
I picked the Premier travel Inn for several reasons. Firstly it was the location. The Inn is located out in the fields with little or no industry or buildings around it. There were some cracking views out over the landscape. The equivalent Travellodge is only about 200 yards away which for us was useful as we managed to book out the entire Premier and half of the lodge. The next important reason was that the Inn has a Brewers Fare (PUB) attached ...

Beware the Ghosts!!
Advantages: Good Views, Pleasant Surroundings, Indoor Pool Disadvantages: Very dated, in need of refurbishment
...hotel is part of the Best Western group of chains and the average cost to stay here on there website is about £125 B & B per double room with full occupancy. The hotel itself though does have its own website separate from the Best Western website and it is this website where you will find the best prices. Im unsure of the actual url address but if you just type Hetland Hall Hotel into a search engine im sure it will come back as a result.
We booked ... ...per night for 2 adults on a bed and breakfast basis. The cost of using the hotels facilities is included in this so there is no extra charge for using the pool, sauna or gym equipment.
Arrival - The greeting from reception was friendly, though is located right by the front door which made it feel very cold. The tiled floor and dated look probably made it feel slightly colder than what it actually was. There are a selection of leaflets and brochures ...

Maikle Barfil - Lovely place to relax
Advantages: Quiet and roomy Disadvantages: Hard to find
...************************** = Meikle Barfil Farmhouse is located on the outskirts of Lochfoot, which is close to Dumfries in Scotland. The easiest way to get there is to use a satnav, as the cottage is difficult to find when you are just using directions from a route finder. The post code for the satnav is DG2 8RP. If like me you are unlucky enough not to have a satnav then you’ll find the area located between Dumfries and Castle Douglas, you need ... ...difficult, because the actual cottage is located about half a mile up an unmarked track. I say unmarked, there is a small sign for the cottage, but it’s extremely easy to miss as you’re driving along. Unless you are a great walker you’ll need a car because it’s a few miles to the nearest village. Price ***** Prices range from £299 for a week to £499 per week in the peak season. Prices include heating and electricity, bedding and towels and ...

The one thing I did right
Advantages: Lovely place, lovely gardens and a lovely owner! Disadvantages: Not many rooms, so I guess it could be awkward to get a booking.
...night at the 4 star Redbank House in Dumfries. Given that my party (my date, another guest and myself) got lost on the way and spent an age (or so it seemed) trying to find our hotel and that of our fellow guest, we missed the actual ceremony, plus I forgot to bring a camera. So it was that when we finally pulled up on the drive of Redbank House I was given to say "Well, at least I did one thing right!" hence my title.
THE LOCATION / GETTING THERE
... ...foot of the drive of Redbank House. Thanks very much indeed multimap, he said with a rye smile. APPEARANCE
Upon driving into the place my date gasped and I said "Is this really the place I booked!" because I suddenly worried that I'd made a mistake regarding the nightly rates! The place is, in a word, immaculate! The lawns and shrubs in the immediate vicinity are beautifully maintained and the place is set in 3 acres of land, much if which we didn't ...

THE UNFRIENDLY CLUB'' -
Advantages: None Disadvantages: So many
...will refuse to do especially when they have taken £25 of my good earned cash.
They really do not care about their members, they seem to forget that it is us members that keep them in a job.
Avoid the camping and caravan club like the plague. ...
