An alternative to Premier Inn & Travelodge

Premier Travel Inn Dumfries, best by far

Advantages: Rooms, Cheap price, staff
Disadvantages: None

I stayed at the Premier Travel Inn in Dumfries just over four years ago for three days and once for a night a couple of years ago. The most scenic Motorway services I have ever visited!

Advantages: Beautiful scenery

The Premier Inn at Annandale Water, Lockerbie is one I discovered by chance when driving home to the North East from Glasgow with my partner last summer. It is situated at Annandale Water Services just off the A74(M), at junction 16. Beware the Ghosts!!

Advantages: Good Views, Pleasant Surroundings, Indoor Pool
Disadvantages: Very dated, in need of refurbishment

Basic ok for overnight stop

Advantages: Central location
Disadvantages: Basic ok for overnight and short stays.

Stayed at this hotel on several occassions, usually booked in the Travelodge Sale, and always been satisfied. Rooms are basic and good value when booked at discount, but we feel the Premier nearby offers better value if paying the full rate. Rooms have basic tea making facilities, bathrooms with showers over and basic tv packages. Beds have always been comfortable and extra bedding provided on request.
