Seen better days Advantages: Central location Picturesque Lynmouth Exmoor National Park Disadvantages: Very dated hotel The Bath Hotel was tired and had obviously seen better days. We recently spent 2 days in Lynmouth on a romantic break, the location near the harbour was nice, but most of the other guests were very very elderly indeed, it was almost like staying in an old folks home. The decorations and furnishings are dated, it could do with redecorating and a general improving of the decor. The bathroom did not having a proper shower, it was a push over the bath ... ...fag smoke. The food was reasonable but not outstanding and with little choice. The hotel dog friendly and only has limited car parking. Lynmouth itself is lovely and is an ideal base from which to explore this part of Devon and Exmoor. Great Find!!!!! Advantages: Great Hotel Great Location Disadvantages: None ...the harbour. We stumbled upon Shelley's while looking for a room since our friend's hotel was booked. What a find it was, it was much much nicer than the place we couldn't get into which we thought was very over-rated. Shelley's is small, refined with a nice lounge & bar and a great location with sea views over Lynmouth Bay. The rate was very fair and their 3 for 2 Exmoor Breaks offer excellent value. luxurious b@b Advantages: peace and quiet Disadvantages: no phone signal or tv Victoria lodge is a wonderfull upmarket b@b.Its actually in Lynton which is on top of the cliff not lynmouth . It has an imaculate garden lots of well kept hanging baskets. There s a lovely welcome when you arrive.The house itself has a victrian theme , lots of painting and photos,very nicely done. The rooms are of a very high standard . Beautiful furnishings and fittings and eveything extremely clean. The brakfast is an event in itself. Lots of ... ...on. We had so much at breakfast it saw us right through the day!! Owner was very informative about the local area. Lots of information as to what to do and where to go. There is only two down sides to this wonderful place the first is the terrible television reception, we could barely get a picture on the t.v and the second is no mobile phone signal. Some people may think both these are positives!! Premier Inn Gatwick - Exceptional value for money, comfy & clean! Advantages: Excellent value for money, very comfortable, clean and tasty food. Disadvantages: A bus ride away from the North terminal I have flown from Gatwick airport early in the morning on several occasions and have always found it much easier to stay the night before and leisurely wander over to the North Terminal in the morning rather than try and make my way down in the car or on the train. I have stayed at both the Sofitel at Gatwick and the Premier Inn therefore, will review both however please be aware this is for the Premier Inn at Gatwick. I have stayed at the Premier ... ...shower. The Premier Inn Gatwick has a restaurant downstairs as well as a bar where you can order food from their bar menu. The restaurant menu is simple but the food is good, and includes dishes such as Spaghetti Bolognese and steak (as of September 2009). The bar menu is a little more basic with dishes such as pizza and burgers taking pride of place. The beauty of the bar menu however, is that you can order your food and then take it back to your ... We had a great time at The Shears Inn, Collingbourne Ducis Advantages: A place to relax and unwind in the countryside, with excellent food. Disadvantages: Can't think of any ...from a short stay at The Shears Inn at Collingbourne Ducis. This lovely thatched inn is enhanced by the quality of the welcome received, the relaxed atmosphere and the excellent food and drink, served by Sophie, always with a smile. We were just 15 minutes away from the stunning Stonehenge, where we enjoyed our visit on a cold but sunny morning, and 20 minutes from the lovely town of Marlborlborough where there is lots to do and see. The Inn itself ... ...alongside gallops where you may see the local race horses excercising if you are up early enough. It is a great base if you are a keen walker, there were people staying who brought their dog who was also made very welcome. All in all a great place to stay. ...
