Very cosy short winter's stay - Good seafood - Good beer.

Advantages: Good simple local seafood. Good service. Good Wifi. A nice bar serving good beer.
Disadvantages: Twin Rooms may feel a little small for two. Not the most modern Accommodation.

...value one night stay at The Golf Hotel in the beautiful, ancient fishing village of Crail in the East Neuk of Fife. I was there on business and was very pleased to find a good standard of accommodation for my money. The room I had booked was a single but the room I got was a fair sized twin room with a spacious shower room en suite. The facilities had their usual Scottish eccentricites but it was very clean, tidy and I had a good powerful hot shower ...
...I had an early start, the staff were only too happy to provide a packed lunch instead. Wifi was available and was at good broadband speeds. As for dinner: I was very pleased to have an excellent portion of Haddock and Chips for £9.50 and a tasty Salmon Fishcake Starter at about £4.00. The service was quick and efficient. I found an excellent pint of Everard's Tiger Bitter served as a guest ale behind a cosy Snug Bar, which was just what the doctor ...

One of my favourite Express by Holiday inns

Advantages: Good value and lovely pub/restaurant adjacent
Disadvantages: None

The Express by Holiday Inn hotel in Glenrothes is one I have stayed in a couple of times, when visiting the Fife area of Scotland. Located on the outskirts of Glenrothes, the hotel is situated in a quiet location, set back from the road, with ample car parking. The hotel has two floors with 49 rooms. All the rooms are non -smoking. On entering the hotel, the reception area is small but adequate, as this is one of the smaller hotels in the chain, ...
...staff are always friendly and helpful and I have never had any problems checking in. There is a dining area just behind reception and this is where you go for breakfast, which is included in the price. Entry to the room is by swipe card. The rooms are all clean with modern decor, and the bed very comfortable with plenty of pillows. If you want more, then just ask at Reception and they are happy to oblige. The rooms are also quite spacious, with en ...

Budget hotels don't get much better than this!

Advantages: Great value
Disadvantages: None

...few can be better than Express by Holiday Inn, in terms of what you get for you money. Having stayed in Travelodges, Premier Inns and Days Inns also, my favourite has to be Express by Holiday Inn. The Dunfermline hotel is one of the newer ones in the popular chain, and since opening three years ago has won the InterContinental Hotels Group Torchbearer Award for excellence in 2007, 2008 and again this year. I have stayed at this hotel twice when visiting ...
...one of the reasons why Express by Holiday Inn offers such good value for money. It is a continental buffet style and offers a large range of cereals, pastries, croissants, toast, jams, yoghurt, fresh fruit and also fruit juice and tea and coffee. You just help yourself to as much as you like, and can also take it back to your room on a tray if you prefer. I am not one for having breakfast at home, but strangely enough I always enjoy it when I am ...

Premier Inn Gatwick - Exceptional value for money, comfy & clean!

Advantages: Excellent value for money, very comfortable, clean and tasty food.
Disadvantages: A bus ride away from the North terminal

I have flown from Gatwick airport early in the morning on several occasions and have always found it much easier to stay the night before and leisurely wander over to the North Terminal in the morning rather than try and make my way down in the car or on the train. I have stayed at both the Sofitel at Gatwick and the Premier Inn therefore, will review both however please be aware this is for the Premier Inn at Gatwick. I have stayed at the Premier ...
...shower. The Premier Inn Gatwick has a restaurant downstairs as well as a bar where you can order food from their bar menu. The restaurant menu is simple but the food is good, and includes dishes such as Spaghetti Bolognese and steak (as of September 2009). The bar menu is a little more basic with dishes such as pizza and burgers taking pride of place. The beauty of the bar menu however, is that you can order your food and then take it back to your ...

We had a great time at The Shears Inn, Collingbourne Ducis

Advantages: A place to relax and unwind in the countryside, with excellent food.
Disadvantages: Can't think of any

...from a short stay at The Shears Inn at Collingbourne Ducis. This lovely thatched inn is enhanced by the quality of the welcome received, the relaxed atmosphere and the excellent food and drink, served by Sophie, always with a smile. We were just 15 minutes away from the stunning Stonehenge, where we enjoyed our visit on a cold but sunny morning, and 20 minutes from the lovely town of Marlborlborough where there is lots to do and see. The Inn itself ...
...alongside gallops where you may see the local race horses excercising if you are up early enough. It is a great base if you are a keen walker, there were people staying who brought their dog who was also made very welcome. All in all a great place to stay. ...
