Very nice hotel

Advantages: Good food, Good rooms.
Disadvantages: expensive

...Kent and there are two marriott hotels located not too far away - the Bexleyheath Marriott Hotel and Marriott Cheshunt. I don't go to Belxleyheath as the hotel has turned me away before due to the fact they have overbooked. The Marriott Cheshunt hotel is located just outside of Cheshunt town centre, so you'll need a car if you want to get into the main town. The hotel is nicely done inside and the staff are pleasant. I have paid between £80 - £110 ...
...comfortable (in my opinion the Marriott bed is the most comfortable out of the main hotel chains). The rooms are nicely furnished with a sofa, desk, tea and coffee making facilities, and a nice en-suite. The wall paper in my room needed re-doing though as there were black marks on the walls were shoes and suit cases had clearly been knocked against the wall and left a few marks. My room also had opening doors leading out onto a very small balcony, ...

OK for the price!!

Advantages: Holiday parking at the hotel means no fussing with buses.
Disadvantages: Booking through a third party doesn't always work.

...booked a night at the Ramada Jarvis hotel in Redbourne through them. For a family room, sleeping 3, for one night and parking in the hotel car park for 2 weeks it cost me £79...very reasonable. The Holidayextras web site told me that the hotel was about 7.5 miles from the airport and that a taxi would cost about £18 each way. All this was fine. We arrived at the hotel and were quickly checked in and asked to leave the details of our car and move ...
...then went to our room to find we had been allocated a standard double room, when we had booked a triple. On reporting this to reception they said they would bring another bed to our room stright away. There was plenty of room for another bed so I said this was fine. I bathed my young son and got him ready for bed as it was late and we had to leave at 4am the next day. But after half an hour we had no word from reception. I rang down and was told ...

Down but not out

Advantages: Good restaurant, pleasant staff
Disadvantages: Some uncomfortable beds, tired decor, no air conditioni

Down Hall Country House Hotel is situated in Hatfield Heath in Hertfordshire. I have stayed here on three occasions, most recently last weekend to celebrate my wedding anniversary. The time before that was three years ago when I spent my final night in the UK here before moving to Bermuda for two years. Reservation and prices I did not see any discount rates available through the intermediaries I sometimes use, like laterooms.com, so I booked ...
...quick look round, I sat down on the bed and found it to be very soft and lumpy. I am quite particular about the type of mattress I use and knew I would be in for a sleepless night on this bed, so I decided to call reception and ask to move. Within about ten minutes, the duty manager came to my room and offered to show me another a few doors away. This room was much larger than the already generous size room I had been allocated, but the bed was a ...

Hilton Hotel in Watford

Advantages: close to M1
Disadvantages: none

Home to the largest ballroom in Hertfordshire, the Hilton Watford hotel is 3 minutes' drive from the M1 and 25 minutes from central London. Not quite what I was expecting from the Hilton Hotel chain as a whole. I thought it would be more "posh" than it was, I did like the bathrooms thought nice and spacious and clean, as for the bedroom/sitting room unless you wanted to sit on the bed it wasnt comfy in the room at all. Although each room does have ...

Basic ok for overnight stop

Advantages: Central location
Disadvantages: Basic ok for overnight and short stays.

Stayed at this hotel on several occassions, usually booked in the Travelodge Sale, and always been satisfied. Rooms are basic and good value when booked at discount, but we feel the Premier nearby offers better value if paying the full rate. Rooms have basic tea making facilities, bathrooms with showers over and basic tv packages. Beds have always been comfortable and extra bedding provided on request. No on site food service other than the shrink ...
...value. Hotel is next to the main shopping centre in Hemel Hempstead where there are several cafes, all a bit pricey. Several other restaurants nearby. If opens are open at night, noise can be a problems as this is on the race route around the town centre. Car park is small for the number of rooms and finding a space if arriving late at night can be a problem. Car parks are available nearby at a cost. ...
