Jurys Inn, Newcastle - Very clean reception and rooms for money.
Advantages: Location to pubs bars, Disadvantages: car parking
Jurys Inn - reasonable prices. Especially if being charged corporate rate as I was. Very clean courtyard and nice welcoming reception area. Rooms are not overly plush but are decent standard to get your head down in for one night. The only problem was the sound from the courtyard travels up to your rooms. If you are a light sleeper any noise from people returning from the pubs near by and collecting in the courtyard for a smoke before they go into ... ...only other issue is parking too. Its quite close to the hotel but because of the location of the hotel you might spend a couple of trips travelling round the ring road finding the nearest parking place. But once you've parked up - pleasant experience to stay in hotel and located central to all amenities. ...

Advantages: cheap, good location Disadvantages: not many
****Royal Station Hotel-Newcastle**** Initially my friend and i booked into a Travelodge but we decided very quickly that we needed another hotel and this is the one we ended up staying in. **Location/Getting there** This hotel is located right next to the train station which is fantastic, nothing worse than a long journey followed by having to find a hotel. There is loads of places to eat nearby, plenty to see and do.The bus station is also quite nearby ... ...**Reception/staff** The hotel looks really nice from the outside-a grand looking building.Reception looks really nice with big chandlers hanging from the ceiling and there are two lifts.Staff were nice and i had the option of paying straight away or when i checked out. **Hotel/Room** The room i stayed in was a twin room and it had a complimentary mini-bar.Room had an en suite with a great shower and a phillips flat screen tv **Other** Room service ...

A perfect, quiet weekend away
Advantages: Excellent location, service and facilities Disadvantages: Quite expensive; hardly a thrill-seeker's paradise
...acres of woodland, adjacent to Newcastle Racecourse and about 4 miles north of Newcastle city centre, the Marriott Gosforth Park's location is unrivalled for space and sheer greenery. Literally 30 seconds' drive from the A1, it is nevertheless so far removed from hustle and bustle that you could be in the middle of the Yorkshire dales. The building itself is some way short of spectacular, viewed externally. It is grey brick, very angular, functional ... ...patch for British architecture as Newcastle City Council have recently realised, looking on in dismay as the cost of demolishing the bulk of the abysmal John Dobson Street skyrockets. T. Dan Smith's legacy is finally being put to rest at long last and you'll be hard-pushed to find someone in Newcastle who's crying about it.
Inside the hotel is a wholly different matter; the marble floors of the reception area are elegant and beautifully polished ...

Basic ok for overnight stop
Advantages: Central location Disadvantages: Basic ok for overnight and short stays.
Stayed at this hotel on several occassions, usually booked in the Travelodge Sale, and always been satisfied. Rooms are basic and good value when booked at discount, but we feel the Premier nearby offers better value if paying the full rate.
Rooms have basic tea making facilities, bathrooms with showers over and basic tv packages. Beds have always been comfortable and extra bedding provided on request. No on site food service other than the shrink ... ...value. Hotel is next to the main shopping centre in Hemel Hempstead where there are several cafes, all a bit pricey. Several other restaurants nearby.
If opens are open at night, noise can be a problems as this is on the race route around the town centre. Car park is small for the number of rooms and finding a space if arriving late at night can be a problem. Car parks are available nearby at a cost. ...

Basic but a good overnight stop
Advantages: Good location, basic accomodation good value at discount rate Disadvantages: Basic, only ok for short stop over or base.
...are basic as with all travelodge Hotels and have either a bath or shower room. Each room has basic TV and tea making facilities. Beds have been comfortable on each visit and each bedding/pillows provided when requested. The hotel is just off the main A303 but we have never had any issues with noise but have not opened the windows either. The hotel is in a small service area next to a Little Chef where basic meals are available. We have not used this ...
