De-lightful and stunning venue! Advantages: Excellent service, beautiful grounds, superb accommodation Disadvantages: Not close to public transport access ...if you go to the De Vere website. After lunch we took and gentle stroll in the grounds, and were able to view parts of the golf course that are part of the complex. As we were only staying for a long weekend, we didn't get the chance to make use of the spa and pool, which looked fantastic, and we only briefly had the chance to make use of the spacious bar area. Maid for a wonderful stay Advantages: Historic property, recently refurbished rooms, good breakfast Disadvantages: Front desk staff who don't know what's going on ...summer I wound up selecting the four star Maids Head Hotel which is part of the Folio Hotels group. My parents spent a week there leading up to the wedding so we were in and out of the hotel all week. My brothers spent three nights in a room with two twins. Sprowston Manor - Delightful Countryside Retreat Advantages: Large, good facilities Disadvantages: Somewhat expensive, suprisingly low standard of service ...by my girlfriend's father to Sprowston Manor to celebrate his 50th birthday. I must say that every aspect of the stay was absolutely fantastic and I would not have any hesitation in recommending this old manor house hotel to anybody. Upon arrival we were greeted at the door by a porter, who took our luggage into the lobby for us, and placed it upon a luggage trolley. After a slight delay at check in (as my girlfriends dad was wanting to pay using ... ...do this!) we were on our way to our room, passing the swimming and sauna area on the way up. That was the first thing we did after getting to our room, we went for a swim. The pool isn't the biggest and I can imagine is quite unpleasant when crowded, but we didn't experience this, and perhaps never is. Something different in the Norfolk countryside Advantages: Location, lovely rooms, friendly staff Disadvantages: Not easy to find, parking can be difficult at times Not the easiest place to find but once found it is situated in a rather lovely part of the Norfolk countryside. During my stay in late June the hotel had suffered some minor flood damage the day before but this didn't effect my stay at all. The rooms with en-suite facilities are pleasantly decorated & well equipped with comfortable beds, TV, coffee making facilities & hair dryer. Fantastic Hotel Advantages: very central to all the local tourist attractions Disadvantages: a boring route round the m25 to get there from surrey! ...anyone who thinks that all Best Westerns are just business mens hotels. Dont bother going to kings lynn tho, we tried to see if it was worth a visit on the harleys but we were faced with horrid industrial estates and one way systems.
