The village of Kinloch Rannoch is around 20 miles outside of the small town of Pitlochry and the City of Perth is about 45 miles away. Kinloch Rannoch really is in the middle of nowhere so as you can imagine the road to get there is very long, narrow and winding so you need to take your time. Great hotel, great value Advantages: Beautiful surroundings, comfortable hotel, friendly staff Disadvantages: Ripon is a little quiet... ...what time breakfast was, etc. Best Western Hotels are quite perculiar in the sense that even though they are part of a national chain, they are independantly and often family run, so this one felt very cosy. Our room was on the frist floor and over looked the front of the hotel, across a main road and onto a landscaped park opposite. The room was fairly small, just enought room for the furniture, but it was spotlessly clean, and had a large, very ... ...the tea & coffees were filled up several times and our bed neatly made. Breafast was served in the dining room which overlooked a bowling green, and was a help yourself buffet. The waiting staff were attentive. There was also th Turf Tavern bar at the hotel, which when we visietd was full of business men watching sport and didn't have much of an atomosphere. I have resorted to five stars for Lough Erne Golf Resort Advantages: Excellent food, accommodation and service Disadvantages: None The Lough Erne Golf Resort and Spa is listed on Ciao as a 4 star hotel, but it is now actually a 5 star facility. I have just reached a milestone age, I celebrated my 40th birthday and I asked my husband to arrange a night away for the two of us, a major logistical feat for us. I am a married mother of three children, aged 8, 5 and 15 months and I work full-time so arranging any free time let alone a night away is something of a major event. Good but not quite there! Advantages: Clean spacious & new Disadvantages: A bit sterile and spa not up to scratch I stayed here for two nights in July 08. The hotel was new (it had only been open a few months). I live locally but stayed here for a wedding. There was plenty of parking available and an undercover walk way to the reception area (It was raining so very much apprieciated!) We had a block booking (6 rooms), on arrival all the bookings were as they should have been and check in was easy. We were allocated a room on the ground floor. The view was of ... ...for the view! The room had everything you needed Hair dryer, kettle with tea and coffee, iron and ironing board. There was plenty of space a large comfy double bed table with two chair and a table. Also dressing table and mirror and also good lighting (for make-up purposes!!). Room service was a bit on the slow side but nothing to really complain about and the bar area clean but a bit on the sterile side. We used the Spa facilities which offered ... Basic ok for overnight stop Advantages: Central location Disadvantages: Basic ok for overnight and short stays. Stayed at this hotel on several occassions, usually booked in the Travelodge Sale, and always been satisfied. Rooms are basic and good value when booked at discount, but we feel the Premier nearby offers better value if paying the full rate. Rooms have basic tea making facilities, bathrooms with showers over and basic tv packages. Beds have always been comfortable and extra bedding provided on request. No on site food service other than the shrink ... ...value. Hotel is next to the main shopping centre in Hemel Hempstead where there are several cafes, all a bit pricey. Several other restaurants nearby. If opens are open at night, noise can be a problems as this is on the race route around the town centre. Car park is small for the number of rooms and finding a space if arriving late at night can be a problem. Car parks are available nearby at a cost. ...
