* A Peaceful Place *
Advantages: Staff , Cleaniless Disadvantages: None!
...one hotel to another in the space of three days. Each day brought us to a new hotel and one of the hotels which we stayed at was called 'The Angel Inn' in Suffolk.
The Angel Inn is located in the beautiful countryside of Suffolk. The inn itself is situated in the small historic village of Stoke-By-Nayland. Upon arrival , we really wondered where we had come to ; it seemed as though we had taken a step back in time.
The inn itself is bursting with ... ...staff who showed us to the garage in the garden , where we were to leave our bikes.
The garden area is so welcoming ; as though you were sitting in a friend's garden. There were many tables and chairs , although whilst we were there , we were the only ones sitting there enjoying the sunshine. It's especially great for families. I enjoyed myself sitting under an umberella reading a magazine and sipping on a diet coke in the sunshine.
My room was ...

Squirrel Lodge, B&B in Keswick, Lake District
Advantages: Clean, well presented and everyone polite and helpful Disadvantages: Problems over price, some glitches with food
Squirrel Lodge is a bed and breakfast in Eskin Street, in Keswick. Keswick is a delightful town situated in the heart of the Lake District and is an ideal base for exploring the area for activities such as walking and cycling. The town itself has a good number of restaurants, pubs and shops. The bed and breakfast is situated near to the town centre, just a few minutes walk away. It's easy to get to and the location of the bed and breakfast is very ... ...during the off-peak season, and Squirrel Lodge was generally full, although still had vacancies on a couple of nights. There are a range of rooms, twin, family rooms and single rooms, but you would be advised to book early, especially in the tourist season, as these can book up quickly. The welcome when we arrived was pleasant and we were shown to the room, which was up a few flights of stairs. I would have been a little concerned about trying to ...

Queens View, Elie - A Holiday Home that's a Real Home from Home
Advantages: Very homely, well equipped, excellent location, fab window seat, sea view Disadvantages: Expensive in the summer - but so is everywhere in Elie. Not suitable for the infirm.
Queens View is situated at 31 High Street, Elie in the Neuk of Fife in Scotland. It is a very comfortable and well appointed two bedroom second-floor, self catering flat. We stayed there for four nights during October 2009. We found it to be more than holiday accommodation – it feels more like a home from home.
The entrance and stairwell are carpeted and appear exceptionally well maintained and clean with artificial flowers and some real plants. ... ...minutes.
Queens View itself consists of a twin bedroom, a double bedroom, a shower room, a dining kitchen and a living room.
The double room, to the rear of the building, is a large room with quirky wooden furniture providing plenty of storage space. It also has a portable television and a hairdryer provided. The bed is extremely comfortable – not too soft and not too hard – with a cosy duvet and plenty of pillows.
The twin room (also to the back ...

The Only Pub In Scotland Without Tennents Lager
Advantages: Nice food, close to Eilean Donan Disadvantages: NO TENNeNTS LAGER
...and I ate at the Dornie Hotel twice, the first time by choice and the second because the place we intended to go to was closed - the fact we went back indicates that it wasn't bad the first time. Dornie is a small village located on the shore of Loch Duich, in North West Scotland. The famous Eilean Donan Castle is located in Loch Duich, right beside Dornie, so I'd imagine it gets a lot of passing trade from this major attraction. Saying that, the ... ...The Dornie Hotel is the slightly smarter looking of the two pubs, but don't let that statement fool you - it's still more or less just a village pub. The lounge bar is clean and well maintained, but not very fashionable and I suspect hasn't bee modernised since the 1980s. It is decorated with photos of the local shinty team, and plenty of trophies and newspaper articles too - that kept my dad occupied for a while as he examined them. There is a public ...

Excellent atmosphere and accommodation
Advantages: Close to N Forest attractions, excellent service, quiet location Disadvantages: Not much parking space at front.
There aren't enough words to describe how wonderful this place was - we spent a weekend there with our toddler and friends. The owner was extremely accommodating regarding children, we were given the larger room to fit our travelcot, and bedding was provided. If memory serves, I believe they were able to provide a travelcot themselves, but we brought our own just in case. Our friends stayed in the room downstairs, and the communal area / lounge was ... ...(the tables etc had to be cleared away). That was ideal for us as we were not able to go out in the evening with a toddler in bed, so we were welcomed to bring our own wine and snacks and chill out with our friends in the lounge, with the baby monitor on while our son was safely asleep upstairs. The cottage is a bautifuly converted family house, with separate rooms for the owners. They were wonderfully hospitable and would withdraw to their part ...
