Is this true? Well yes, I think you could say so, for a number of reasons. Overall our stay here was amazing and I was very sorry when it ended. It is supposedly done in California Mission style - now I have no idea whether this hotel is authentic to this style or not, but it was lovely!
The moment you make your way up the sweeping drive to be pounced on by a member of the valet section you know you are about to be spoiled rotten. The entrance is very grand and as you walk into the lobby area the only word is "Wow!". It is immense and open plan and very grand, but not in an intimidating way at all. Having stayed at another Universal onsite hotel we were eager to see how it compared to the more expensive Portofino Bay that we had previously visited. Well when we arrived at the front door the girls were blown away by the fountain of metal guitars outside. Things got better when we went inside and saw a clock on the floor which was a shadow . Staff inside were very friendly and despite checking in at 9am our club room was going to be ready very soon thereafter. Check in is actually 4pm but seeing as you get front of line for that day most people check in early dump their bags and go to the park.

If you want to spoil youself stay at this location.The hotel itself is fantastic as expected for an American hotel.The pool area is like a beach and shows films for children at certain times plus various other entertainment.They only have one restaurant which is situated downstairs.Breakfast was included which was varied and excellent every day ( you can get food by the pool), the food is good but expensive.
The hotel is only 2 minute's walk fron the gates of Universal which is a great advantage.As you can go back to your hotel through the day to change and chill out before the evening
Plus they do do transport from the hotel to other parks.
All in all well worth the money and visit ...
