Advantages: Stunning hotel, great staff and in the heart of Universal resort Disadvantages: Cost can soon add up
On my last trip to Orlando I stayed at two different hotels - one being this one, The RoyalPacificResort. I was only there for 4 nights but I truly fell in love with this hotel and would if I could, come back again.
The hotel:
The hotel is part of the Loews hotels and is also included in the Universalresort in Orlando. It is a 5 star hotel and is ideal for those that want luxury at the same time as being in the heart of Universal.
Location and surroundings:
The hotel is set in the area of universal but, as it is set back it is nice and quiet in the evenings. The main area of universal can be reached by walking or you can get the complimentary shuttle boats that run back and forth all evening up until approx 2AM.
The nightlife of city walk is just around the corner and the boats drop and pick up from right in ...
Advantages: Loved all of it! Beautiful Hotel, Fab service! Disadvantages: I kept getting lost!
Well as you ca guess, I love this hotel!
If I could afford it I would go back year after year. I was lucky enough to be on a sponsored familiarisation trip with UniversalOrlando so it didnt cost me what it should have. Even still, it would have been worth every penny had I paid fro it myself.
There were so many lovely little 'touches' that made the stay fantastic, the maids leaving chocolates and beaded bracelets on your pillow at turn down service, the lovely staff, the cleanliness was impeccable! The pool was a lovely place to sit and relax by with a great pool bar (that served huge portions of food! warning... get a meal to share with someone!)
The hotel has a Polynesian theme to it so when you arrive you walk over a bridge with a waterfall nearby and lush greenary all around. The staff greet you on your first arrival ...
Advantages: Location, Atmosphere, Luxurious yet Hip Feel Disadvantages: It is rather pricey
for access to the Universal parks. It was literally a 5 minute walk to the Studios with Islands of Adventure another minute or two. The walk was very pleasant, through landscaped paths and along a river. If you wanted, you could take the free water taxi (shuttle boat) which services all the Universalresorts (there are 3 - Portofino Bay and RoyalPacificResort complete the round up). There was also a bus service (we never used this) to the parks and other hotels. Finally there are people pulling little rickshaws with a bike if you fancied this. As the walk was so short we always did this.
In terms of its location in Orlando, you are very close to I4 which gives access to all other tourist attractions including Walt Disney World (about a 15 minute car ride) and also to International Drive with its plethora of dining, shopping and entertainment ...
