Advantages: Great breakfast, Great location Disadvantages: Decor wasn't great
Walking out of the train station in Milan, every traveller is bombarded by streets with hotels lining either side. It can be difficult to decide which one to choose but the Berna is defiantly worth a stay.
Although my family and I only stayed one night before flying home, the hotel was the comfiest night?s stay I had all holiday.
When entering the cool foyer there is an array of Italian sweets and chocolate, and a choice of some newspapers (unfortunately none in English, but you can still look at the pictures) and comfy sofas, great to collapse in after a days travelling in the heat.
The reception staff are very friendly, welcoming and speak very good English, which always makes life a lot simpler, there was no queue so we were in our rooms within minutes of arriving. There are two lifts available to take guests to upper floors ...
Advantages: Good price for the standard of hotel Disadvantages: Not a great location unless you want to be next to the Expo Park
I love Lisbon; it's a fantastic city with lots to offer and plenty to see, but sadly on this occasion I wasn't going to get the chance to see much at all. I arrived at the hotel around 11 pm and was off again next morning at 9 am. However, even in such a brief stay, I think it's possible to get an impression of a hotel.

Where is it?
The VIP Arts is just a short walk from the waterfront area of the Parque das Nacoes (or Park of Nations - apologies to any Portuguese readers as I've lost several accents off the true spelling) which was built up for the world Expo in 1998. This is ...
Advantages: The buffet breakfast was quite good Disadvantages: Unfortunately, lots!
I stayed at this hotel at the beginning of February 2008 and paid £50.30 per night for the room, plus an online booking fee. This was my first visit to Portugal and I chose this hotel as I thought it looked okay in the online photographs, because it had a swimming pool etc and because I thought it was close to the airport. Unfortunately, I was somewhat disappointed. The hotel was not within walking distance of the airport and so I had to get a taxi. I found that Roma was not the most upmarket of areas and as I was travelling alone felt rather nervous. The lobby to the hotel looks quite impressive and the staff are well turned out, but I did not find them particularly friendly. My room was pretty basic and very cold - no carpet and the heater did not work. Also, the view from the window looked down upon the dreary, grey back ...
