L'Estartit started out as a small fishing village, located on the Costa Brava in the Gerona region of Catalunya. Today it is a great resort for the tourist, offering a wide range of accomodation, bars, restaurants and a wonderful beach, without ruining the atmosphere of a small seaside town.
The town is located at the foot of a small mountain, known as the Rocamaura, and this gives the town a great deal of natural beauty from wherever in town you happen to be. The side of the mountain is covered in trees, with a rock peak: and there are villas located on it. You can walk up and have a stroll around the inhabited part of the mountain either by a huge flight of steps, or via a couple of roads just off the Santa Ana street, or by the road near Castell Montgri campsite. The reception is not manned all day and all night, but you can obtain you key code for the door (if booked in advance) by inserting the card you used to book into a machine. It prints out the room numbers and the keycode. so it doesn't matter what time you turn up, which is really handy if you are travelling around and don't know what time you will get there. You can also pay for a room with the machine on the door and receive instant access and payment!!
If you have any problems with your room, just let the receptionist know and they are always very happy to help. Need extra pillows (like my dad) they have them in the cleaners cupboard and will get one for you!!!

Valle dei templi is a must if you go and visit Sicily, it is fanstastic experience and seems you are back in the past in the Greek times. The best time to go is Spring. I would avoid the summer because it could be too hot . you pay a small fee to enter into the temple and the visit can last about 2 hours. To bad you can\"t go inside the temple of Giunone but it worth to go there anyway.
