Mas de L Hermitage apartments Provence Beautiful

Advantages: great views and fab food
Disadvantages: a bit isolated

In September I went on holiday to the Var region of Provence, France for two weeks with my partner. We found a place to stay by searching on the net and didn’t know anything about it before we went so we were pretty pleased with what we found. Our criteria were as follows:- - somewhere with a pool not shared by many people - a good base to explore the region (near cote d’azur) from - near vineyards - somewhere fairly quiet i.e. not a large apartment complex - not outrageously expensive - nice, tidy apartment The apartment The apartment itself was very nice. We had a 2 person apartment in the main building which comprised large double bedroom with en-suite, kitchenette with dining area and a balcony with seating. The apartment was adequate for us. The only minor point was as we were in the eaves ...

Yves Rocher Peche de Provence EDT

Advantages: Fresh fruity smell, Low cost
Disadvantages: Smell doesnt last the day

Edited to note: EDT means "Eau de Toilette" - perfumes are ranked by the "intensity" and the time they last. Perfumes are often availible in many strengths, althought EDT and EDP (parfum) are the common ones as they are on the cheaper end of the scale. Do a google search for more info. I read some really good reviews on another site for the Yves Rocher Plaisirs Nature range. These are soaps, shower gels and EDT's that smell like various fruits. As they are fairly reasonably priced I thought I would try some of the products out. One of the products I ordered was the Peach (Peche) EDT. The peach scent was particularly well rated on this other website. The EDT's are availible in 2 different sizes - 100ml, which is £5.50; and 20ml for £2.70. Of course, being Yves Rocher, they often have specials on and the items are generally cheaper ...

Le Gloire de Mon Pere - beautiful tale in the hills of Provence

Advantages: Superb scenery coupled with a happy and heartwarming tale.
Disadvantages: None!

This is probably one of my favourite films of all time, and if you are looking for something heartwarming with stunning scenery, then this is the film for you. The film is based on Marcel Pagnol's childhood holidays in the hills of Provence, and recounts boyhood friendships, adventures and family bonding. The setting is absolutely stunning, (you can almost smell the garrigue!), no silly special effects needed here, and if you are a Francophile, you will love the Provencal hills and ancient village of La Trieille. The actors do an admirable job of portraying 19th century family life in rural France, but as with other reviewers, i agree that it is a little sugar coated. However, this doesn't distract from a beautiful and nostagic film, that will cheer up the gloomiest of UK winter evenings, and i heartily recommend it. Do follow it up ...
