A hotel with a great location, great view Advantages: great location, great view Disadvantages: room is a little bit old, not best for money choice I have been to this hotel on August 26, 2007. It has a nice location,just on the most attractive street, Robson street, namely in the heart of Vancouver. Definitely a downtown hotel, where has a colorful night life. On the both sides of the street are full of bars, restaurants, shops. It is one of the best place to enjoy oriental food there, Japanese food, Thai food, Chinese food, Korean food. Short walking distance to the famous Stanley park. Aslo ... ...the Stanley Park. Great location. As for the building itself. An magnificient view from out side. Especially when you are on one of the top floor, you can overview the whole Vancouver. Great view. A decent hotel choice for downtown Vancouver Advantages: Great location, good facilities, great deal Disadvantages: You'll be lucky to get the same deal ...LOCATION The Century Plaza is pretty much was the heart of the shopping and eating area of downtown on Burrard Street and so is ideally placed for the tourist. This end of Burrard Street had several restaurants and coffee shops, as well as a Market Place supermarket which had lots of excellent foodstuffs as well as a café which serves nice paninis. Just a short walk to the north was Robson Street, which had lots of shops such as Gap & Banana ... ...considering. Granville Island Hotel Advantages: scenic setting, great bar Disadvantages: difficult location by public transit ...in the rooms of the Granville Island Hotel, so do not observe the ratings below as a reflection of the rooms. I have eaten in their bar, and I know the area well, so I am writing this review to help potential visitors who do not know the city of Vancouver. THE NEIGHBORHOOD: Quaint Granville Island has a massive public market where produce and prepared foods are available en masse. There is a thriving local theatre community in the summertime, and ... ...Vancouver. THE DRAWBACKS: Granville Island is not easily accessible by public transport. There is a parking lot at the hotel, so for people who are happy to rent a car, this isn't a problem. OVERALL: A place I could well end up staying one time. (I will certainly amend this review if I do!) Harbourside Hotel in Vancouver Advantages: 4 Star hotel in Downtown Vancouver Disadvantages: Just a few extras to make the room better ...train, we entered the busy Renaissance hotel lobby and spied one of our cases, linked with others and all padlocked together. The bell boy was surprised when we asked about our other two cases, but we discovered that they had already been taken to our room and were assured the other would go immediately. True to their word it was safely in the room a few moments later as check in was very quick and efficient, just a switch of our credit card for ... ...the gift shop sold them! Renaissance lose 2 points! Restaurants The main restaurant is called the Patina Restaurant and this was used for dinner and breakfast. We ate two nights in here as the food had been so good and we didn't feel like going out in the rain! Lovely wooden tables in various sizes were spaced out quite well, the top was inlaid with a bronze coloured top. A Luxurious Stay In Vancouver Advantages: great work-out space, accommodating staff, spacious rooms Disadvantages: room service choices too limited ...$25/day plus taxes and gratuities.
