Birthday Dinner.

Advantages: Good food, great decor, friendly staff
Disadvantages: -

Because it was my friend's birthday we had to have somewhere special to eat. But since we had just arrived in Vancouver, had no money after a long stint of not working (hooray though for 10 weeks of no work) and we didn't really know of anywhere the options werent overwhelming. Not that it would probably keep you warm much if it was needed but boy it looks cool! (as in funky, not cold). Bargain Japanese food at a down to earth eaterie

Advantages: Cheap, great good, nice atmosphere
Disadvantages: I'm hard pressed to think of any except for the distance

The genuine Vancouver Dim Sum experience

Advantages: Great food, great prices, a real experience
Disadvantages: Need to arrive early to avoid queuing for a table

Advantages: Great sushi, excellent service and good value for money
Disadvantages: Might have to book in advance to get a table

Top Thai cuisine in downtown Vancouver

Advantages: Excellent food, excellent service, excellent prices
Disadvantages: It's a ten hour flight away
