I absoloutely adore Greece, and frequently holiday there....so when i found a bargin last minute All inclusive deal for the louis (iberostar) plagos Beach hotel, Zante i snapped it up!!! As you can imagine my partner and i got very excited, looking forward to a great holiday in a lovely country, with great beaches, and a fab hotel to stay at....mmmmm maybe not quite!!!
When ariving at the hotel, we were warmly greeted by the lovely receptionist who beamed as she said to us "your room won't be ready for another 3 hours"...fantastic!!!

I read somewhere that this is one of the most popular beaches in Zante and that was true. Laganas is 5km in length and in my opinion it is quite narrow. However, that opinion maybe due to the fact that I visited it at the end of July and there were a lot of tourists there, the majority British who crowded the beach a lot.
Laganas is also the most "lively" resort on the island which again is true. The main strip runs all the way down to the beach and then the bars, cafes, restaurants etc. follow the coast line and run alongside the beach. Throughout the day many of these places stay open and offer the facility of renting a sun bed on the beach space in front of their establishment. These sun beds take up a large portion of the beach and only leave a very narrow strip of sand between the sea for other sun bathers. I didn't like this as ...

This is a fantastic hotel - great for families.
the staff are very friendly who bend over backwards to help you. There is a beautiful terraced restaurant looking out over the lovely gardens, serving up a wide range of food to suit every taste. Everything is so clean and tidy and well looked after.
The pool is small-ish but perfectly suitable as the most amazing beach is so close i.e. 5 meters from the pool. Beach is perfect, golden sand, the sea is as warm as the Caribbean and is shallow for a long distance and the water is very calm due to no tide. Restaurant and mealtimes are for 3 hours at a time so it is never too full to sit and never too crowded.
The Greeks really love looking after the English especially the children. There is lots to do during the day for kids and for adults there was entertainment and crčches ...
