Review of Caracas

Paradise

Advantages: cheap, wam, quiet
Disadvantages: hard to reach, no big comfortable hotels

When i was in Venezuela, after trekking and visiting the sites i decided to relax for a few days on the coast. However it was difficult to pick a good place, so i followed the Venezuelans to what for them Cornwall is for us. The place was called Puerto Columbia and is reached by bus, albeit rather long and uncomfortable. However it is worth the journey. On one side of the bay there are bars, clubs and hotels and on the other side the beach and some ...
...but they are sufficient and prices are so cheap - 3 pounds for a meal and 4 for a night in a hotel. In terms of theings to do there is plenty. The number one attraction is the beach, white sands, palm trees, prestine ocean and sun are the essential mix here. Review of Caribbean Coast

The "Germany" of South America

Advantages: Coolness and quietness. European culture and beauty in a tropical setting.
Disadvantages: Distance... Roads are not very good

A trek to the top

Advantages: birlliant views, varied climate, challenging

In particular the first day or so where tempertaures were in the 30s and the path was very steep.
