Oriental Venetian bliss Advantages: Close to the water bus drop off, central to the dity Disadvantages: Room very small, walls paper thin Ai Mori d'Oriente Hotel We found this to be a charming small hotel. It straddles two buildings which is possibly its only disadvantage, in that we had to go up and under, round and down and up and under again through very narrow corridors to get to our room. Venice is an old city and I suppose that one of the charms that the buildings are not clones of each other. The hotel has a breakfast room, but does not provide evening ... ...The staff in the hotel on a whole though were fairly non engaging. Breakfast was absolutely excellent and is served in a large covered courtyard, with lots of eating options. Scrambled egg and bacon costs extra though. Our room was small, and was located in the attic space, and it felt like that. We had non-functioning air conditioning, we left the window open and that was however fine. Beautiful little hotel Advantages: The decor, the breakfast, the friendly staff, Disadvantages: Some rooms are a little on the small side, but this was no big inconvenience ...standard double room in the Ca' Dei Conti hotel (on expedia) for 3 nights in early January 2008, as a romantic break for my boyfriend and I. We fell in love with the place!. The hotel is incredibly easy to find by public water bus, you just get off at the San Zaccaria stop and follow the directions given on the hotel website. It's situated only a few minutes walk from St. Marks Square, but is incredibly quiet and secluded, so there is no noise or ... ...you go off of the tourist path a bit. All in all, I can't wait to go back to the Ca' Dei Conti. LITTLE GEM HOTEL IN VENICE CALLED LA FENICE Advantages: location location Disadvantages: the staff the hotel is famous for the artists and authors who have stayed there. The hotel is located just five minutes walk from St. Mark's Square. so a brilliant location only problem is finding it the first time as the directions to the hotel given by the hotel seem very complicated and not easy to follow. It is only 15 minutes from Rialto bridge and even closer to Acadamier so a perfect location. It is located in a quiet thoroughfare so no street noise ... ...by special arrangement only. The hotel ambience was very much in keeping with Venice and has a quantness about it there is a little garden you can have your breakfast in and drinks in the evening although it is quite nice it is not beautiful.. A quiet little gem, easy to find. Advantages: Quiet area handy for trips to the Islands. Disadvantages: Steep stairs to room 6. ...a new place as the Locanda Remedio, had hiked its prices, perhaps I should keep these places to myself instead of giving them good reviews. Anyway managed to book one double thru ALPHAROOMS for just over £100 for the three nights, but had to book second room direct which gave us an average of £200 per couple. I thought I would be able to get a second room thru one of the others as 5 showed room available, but after booking with Alpharooms, the other ... ...limited facilities. The Locanda is easy to find, if problems just ask for directions to the Hospital, all Venitians know where that is and there are many signs to "OSPEDAL". When on the square you have the Hospital (Although you may not think it is one due to the glorious frontage) to its right you have the Large Church or San GioVanni st Paolo. go down the street to the right of the church, has several shops.
