Nice and relaxing outside Venice
Review of Campeggio Holiday Center Valdor, Venice by zuckeer

Advantages: close to the beach
Disadvantages: a bit hard to find

General We went to Venice to be romantic. And this hotel was perfect for us even though we had hard time finding it. It is close to the beach, relaxing, quiet and there were hardly any guests apart from us. And I liked the fact it was a bit out of town. The breakfast was great and the hotel is situated beautifully with its own big garden and closeness to the beach. I do recommend this place if you want to take part in both beach and city. ...
...colours, almost boring but clean. There was just enough room for a double bed and there was a small telly on the wall showing just Italian programs but I didn't mind. I'm not there for watching telly. There was also a small sofa and a mirror and a table to that. Just enough space to put our stuff on. But again not a problem, we had the bed. The toilet was very small and had just enough space for a tiny shower. But it was clean and we got clean towels ... Read review

Oriental Venetian bliss
Review of Hotel Ai Mori d'Oriente, Venice by bigfatdogs

Advantages: Close to the water bus drop off, central to the dity
Disadvantages: Room very small, walls paper thin

Ai Mori d'Oriente Hotel We found this to be a charming small hotel. It straddles two buildings which is possibly its only disadvantage, in that we had to go up and under, round and down and up and under again through very narrow corridors to get to our room. Venice is an old city and I suppose that one of the charms that the buildings are not clones of each other. The hotel has a breakfast room, but does not provide evening ...
...The staff in the hotel on a whole though were fairly non engaging. Breakfast was absolutely excellent and is served in a large covered courtyard, with lots of eating options. Scrambled egg and bacon costs extra though. Our room was small, and was located in the attic space, and it felt like that. We had non-functioning air conditioning, we left the window open and that was however fine. In fairness we did not raise this with the hotel, and it maybe ... Read review

Hitlon Hotel, Venice, Molino Stucky
Review of Hilton Molino Stucky Hotel, Venice by bostonianbeer

Advantages: Great hotel, great location?
Disadvantages: Perhaps too big!

...I read about the new Hilton Hotel that had just opened in Venice and they had comments on the wonderful views and the roof terrace. As we had booked to visit Venice in March of this year, and had been several times before this was an opportunity to see another view of Venice from a different area. I had read that it is a large hotel and thinking about Venice and the size it must be out of the main Venice tourist area, we had not seen any building ...
...until we arrived at the Hilton which is the other end of Giudecca Island. They do say that Elton John has a house in this part of Venice. The hotel is an imposing building which was built in the 19th century and is known as Mulion Stuky (on the maps of Venice) it's previous use was a flour mill, though after years of staying empty and fires it has been transformed into one of the best hotels in the world. I must say we were not impressed with the ... Read review

Hotel Columbina Venice Island
Review of Loconda Remidio Columbina, Venice by bostonianbeer

Advantages: So close to St. Marks
Disadvantages: None

Calle del Remedio - Castello, 4416 30122 Venice Italy. We have just returned from this 4 Star Hotel where we spent 3 Nights, I hear you regular readers of my reviews "What is POSHTROIKA doing staying in a 4 Star, he usually goes for the cheap options". Well we were a party of six and the Locanda Remedio (Annex to Colombina) only had two rooms available (See my review of the Locanda under COLOMBINA HOTEL) so I booked one room in the main Hotel, ...
...so lets splash out. The Hotel is located approx 100 yards from St Marks Square, it is located on the Canal which has the Bridge of Sighs over it, so prime location for a visit to Venice. The Check-in is a small area, after all space is always at a premium in Venice, but very smart and friendly staff ensure a smooth process. A smart porter is called who will then show you to your room, and explains how everything works. He then goes back to bring ... Read review

VENICE - YES, YES, YES
Review of Manin Hotel, Venice by Maximus-Qualitus

Advantages: OH YES
Disadvantages: NONE

...1. FINALLY, The Hotel MANIN was the third stop after passing under the rialto bridge. The entrance to the hotel is stunning, the concierge spoke clear English and the cases where whipped away, passports checked and he escorted us up to our room. It had a small balcony looking right onto the Grand Canal, the Rialto Bridge was to our right, and so close you could hit it with a tennis ball. The room was large and spotlessly clean whilst the bathroom ...
...which you can have your breakfast in. Concierge 24 hours per day, air-conditioning control, wake-up service, hair-dryer, telephone, minibar, satellite TV, digital safety-box. Our hotel was a 3 star out of 5 stars and cost us £1000 for a 3 night stay. Back to the view…., to sit there looking out on the canal cannot be underestimated, watching the water buses, water taxis, personal boats and of course Gondolas passing up and down was a joy, (this ...
