Hi! This is my first op on this English Ciao website, and this is the reason why I chose to talk about the city I live in –Versailles.
Yes, Versailles…in France. I’m a French girl studying the English language and Civilisation, and since I’ve really appreciated reading your opinions for a time, now I’ve taken the decision to join and write my own. So if you notice some grammatical mistakes or vocabulary ones, do not hesitate to tell me, I’ll be delighted to improve myself.
Well, in fact I don’t really live in Versailles, but in the city just next to it; my flat is at the borderline between Viroflay and Versailles. Most of my activities take place in Versailles. I’ve been to highschool there, I often go shopping in Versailles, or made sport there, I also love to drive by the wonderful and famous Chateau de Versailles every morning when going to the University or else.
Indeed Versailles is a city where people from all around the world come to visit, mostly for castle and its King Louis 14th, and also because it is a really beautiful and friendly town not so far from Paris –about 40 mn driving. The gardens of the castle are absolutely splendid and allow a lot of men and women to do their daily sports, or others preferring to have a slow walk in this gorgeous nature allied with architecture. Once outside the castle, you will of course find nice streets filled with restaurants of all kinds, pubs and shops.
I studied in the Lycée La Bruyère, and got my GCEA there, indeed it has the reputation of giving a very good education and culture and 99% of the student in this establishment have there degree at the end of the year. The city is on the one hand quite young with its students (4 or 5 highschools), but on the other hand quite old because a lot of retired people live there. Come and visit Versailles some day, and in that case, don’t hesitate to tell me!
