Advantages: Good Location, Great Service, Clean, Friendly, Convienant! Disadvantages: Noisy road at night but where in Rome isn't!!!
...'t in central rome! Domus Inn is located in an apartment building on the 5th floor, the elevator is a little sketchy (especially if like me you fear them) but the walk up the stairs is not unbearable.
The Hotel is a short stroll from VillaBorghese which is a beautiful park, and you could walk to most of the main sights and the termini from the hotel if you wanted too, but with buses to The Vatican, Piazza Barberini (close to The Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain) and the Termini you don't have to!
I had heard that the ice cream shop opposite the hotel is amazing so was upset when we found it closed until February, there are lots of restaurants very close to the hotel and some a short walk from the Piazza Fiume. I recommend Brancaleone's on Via Sicilia, they do great pizza and pasta at a really reasonable price. Also Friends Bar was a great...

Advantages: It has everything! Disadvantages: Can get stuffy and full of tourists in the summer!
...and ice cream shops, some painters doing portraits or selling landscapes. The fountain of the rivers in the centre is just as impressive as Trevi, in my opinion, the the church opposite is worth a look at, when you go inside.
The Piazza Spagna, or the Spanish Steps is a good general hangout. If you are in Rome on your own, you won't be alone for long if you sit down here.. (especially if you are female.. it is something of a predatory ground for romans to pick up tourists!). This is where Shelley's house was and there is a little english tearoom for the homesick!
VillaBorghese is a massive park and gallery. It is the only park in Rome, and on a hill, it is wonderfully romantic, the views are amazing, but you might want to get a bus up there! (or the metro!).
As for the Vatican, well, you can buy any kind of ornament...

Advantages: So much to see, beautiful weather, lovely food Disadvantages: not much lush green grash in the summer!
...and delicious. If you are staying in the Termini area, deffinately a place to visit.
Day 2
In the morning we took the Metro back to the Spanish Steps and visited the Keates-Shelley Museum. Entry 4euros. Resonable given the small size of it, although it is intersting if you are like the Poets or English Lit. The attendant at the time was very helpful in directing us to the nearest supermarket. Went to the Supermarket off of Via Vittorio in the direction of Piazza Del Popolo. Bought some supplies, including Speck ham from the wonderfully fully stocked meat counter. Off to the VillaBorghese Park, opposite Piazza Del Popolo. At the top of the Pincio Hill there is a magnificent view point, you can see all the way to the vatican and all of the roof tops of Rome. Truly a photo moment! We sat under a tree by the lake in this huge park, and had our lovely...

Advantages: Everything is close by Disadvantages: The crowds can be a bit much
...Piazza di Spagna is one of the most popular tourist spots of Rome; but it is also one of the most beautiful. The thing that sticks in my memory is the long winding staircase that leads down the square which promptly leads to numerous narrow little streets that are home to some of the most exclusive boutiques in Rome, for clothes as well as souvenirs. You'll find most of shop assistants speak English, but they do like it if you try a bit of Italian. Even though most people except the Japanese venture into stores like Fendi and Versace, it really is pleasant to spend an hour wandering through the strees, or just sitting on the steps. Also, everything in Rome is close by so it takes only a minute to get to the museum of Modern Art or the beautiful Borghese Parks - a real treat!...
