(and had good AC) and the Villa Turistica de Priego is designed with the needs of ramblers in mind, rather than soft, lazy gits like me (my hill-walking days have long since taken a hike).
Speaking of hiking, this place is ideally situated for that particular pastime with any number of trails leading directly from the hotel. In fact, I wish I'd known about it when I did do a bit of hiking, it would've been perfect
Having said that, we really only wanted somewhere quiet, where we could lounge by the pool, have a nice meal, and perchance sink a few beers without breaking the bank. In that respect the hotel fulfilled all our requirements.
And although I found the room to be on the spartan side regarding creature comforts, it was very clean and well looked after.

Why we chose the hotel

My boyfriend and I decided to take a weekend city break in Rome, we were joined by his parents who travelled seperately. We looked on Expedia for a good deal and we found one with reasonable BA flights and 3 nights stay at Hotel Villa Patrizi. We looked at the information and pictures of the hotel on the internet and it looked good so we decided to book it. Now we have been to the hotel, and looking back at the pictures, they are true to life and do not decieve you in anyway that the hotel looks different to what it does.

Restaurant Hotel Villa de Duinen is a beautifully restored Villa that was built in 1902. After thoroughgoing renovations it has been fitted out with all modern conveniences while the original building style has been preserved where possible. The five rooms and four suites have been designed in a tasteful style, they are all of different sizes and have large balconies. Only twenty minutes drive from Amsterdam/Schiphol Airport and close to The Hague, Leiden and Rotterdam with their many cultural attractions. Our well known restaurant seats about 55 people, and there is also a conference-dining room which holds about 35 people for dinner or 20 people for meetings. Villa de Duinen has a view of the five star hotel ‘Huis ter Duin’ and the sea. The Villa is only a five minutes walk away from the sea, the dunes, the boulevard and the attractive centre of Noordwijk.
