Advantages: Charming hotel in a beautiful location Disadvantages: tiny bathroom
Hotel Villa Laguna was so easy to find. Take the Vaporetto number 1 to the Lido, and then the hotel is just along to the right of the vaporetto stop. As soon as you walk into the hotel, it's like stepping back in time to a little Venetian palace. Everything is so ornate and beautifully decorated. The staff are great , so friendly and helpful - they were able to book all our excursions and restaurants for us and gave us advice on everything we needed. Our room was on the 2nd floor of the hotel, but they have a lift, so no problem. Our room had a dining and sitting area with a small kitchenette. There was a separate bedroom with a large double bed and plenty of space. The room was full of character with sloped ceiling and original beams. A well situated hotel in lido Venice, 5 minutes from the Boat station and 15 minutes to St.Mark´s Venice.
Very close to the Beach and the Palazzo del Cinema, where the Film festival take place.
The staff is very welcoming and pleasant, breakfast quite good, specially in summer in the private Garden.
In summer days was quite amazing just take a bike given from the hotel and ride all the island long take a long drink on the way and coming back long the Venice lagoon in the light of the sunset, just heaven!
In the evening there are many restaurants close to the hotel, all reacheble by feet, where we found good fish food in venetial style.
Rate quite average, I´ve booked through [http://www.lidodivenezia.it Lido Venice Hotel] ...
James Villas had a strong advertising campaign over the last 2 years and, after a very happy holiday with them to Mallorca in 2004, we decided to book a week in Tuscany for the end of August 2008.
The website is very informative and we decided on our accommodation - Villa Podere Il Renaio in Legoli. A helpful section of the website allows you to check availability and prices for the week you want and weeks either side and so we were sorted. Actually, no! I know flights from Newcastle to Pisa were available with Jet2 (I had checked the prices on Jet2 website) but the James Villas website insisted I could only fly from Manchester, so I had no choice but to make a phone booking.
Phoning to book the holiday was easy. There was no queue, I got straight through to a very friendly operator who assured me that she could book Jet2 ...
