As soon as you walk into the hotel, it's like stepping back in time to a little Venetian palace. Everything is so ornate and beautifully decorated. The staff are great , so friendly and helpful - they were able to book all our excursions and restaurants for us and gave us advice on everything we needed. Our room was on the 2nd floor of the hotel, but they have a lift, so no problem. Our room had a dining and sitting area with a small kitchenette. There was a separate bedroom with a large double bed and plenty of space. The room was full of character with sloped ceiling and original beams. The only downside was that the bath was tiny and you could not stand up in it because of the sloped ceiling - but that's part of the charm! Our window looked out over St Mark's Basin. The breakfast room and bar also look out over St Mark's Basin, and they have a garden with tables & chairs - perfect for sunrise eating or sunset drinking. Breakfast is a buffet of cereals, fruit, yoghurt, breads & Pastries - a feast to set you up for a day's sightseeing. The bar staff can create any cocktail under the sun in a jiffy. the hotel offers bicyces for guests' free use, but be early to book one as they are very popular. It was pricey - we paid about £90 per room per night, but worth it I think, and I will definitely return to this hotel.
