Advantages: lovely view from the pool Disadvantages: where should I start?.... food, service, location...
Villa esperia is situated in the Mazzaro part of Toarmina, that is near the sea. the city is accessible via via cable-car (lovely view on the bay...)
Staying at Villa Esperia has unfortunately spoilt our holiday a great deal. Even though it was nice to have a stunning view from the pool, we found that the hotel did not deserve its four stars.
the staff was not very polite, you had to be very patient because they did not seem to realise that the customer comes first ( we had to wait a lot to check in / check out/ get our keys from reception, betweeen the courses in the evening, etc...) But the worst thing was the food. We made the terrible mistake of booking half board and had to eat all of our dinners at the hotel. The food was extremely poor, even though I am not fussy. It was often cold and tasteless, certainly not cooked from fresh ...
Advantages: Has a certain nostalgic humour. Disadvantages: Dated drivel
In my review of ‘Beowulf’ I may have intimated that it was the worst film that I had ever seen, I should have known better. No matter how bad a film is, there will be a worse one along in a moment, and this is it.

Sited on an unnamed windswept coast, alongside a leaky nuclear power station, Guest House Paradiso attracts only the poor and the desperate.
As Twat’s only ambition ...
Advantages: Beautiful Culture and Scenery Disadvantages: Mad Drivers in traffic choked streets!
Taormina - Undeniably special, a very pretty hillside town and one of our favourite Sicilian holiday locations. Although expensive to stay here it is well worth coming here. Taormina is high on Monte Tauro so you have to travel downwards to the two bays below if you wish to visit the beach, Giardini-Naxos. We stayed in Villa Belevdere, via Bagnoli Croce, situated in the cliff, views absolutley stunning of the Bay of Naxos. We stayed here in early September, and loved the gardens and pool. Although there is no restaurant in the evening here, the local trattorias
are only a few minutes stroll away. Very busy place during June and September, very crowded with tourists in the main street Corso Umberto, but what an atmosphere! Music everywhere, and street entertainers! Absolutely fantastic. You walk alot here, as it is the best way ...
