Villa Princess Theophano, Halkidiki

Advantages: Beautiful, Cheap and not too 'Touristy'!!
Disadvantages: Not much to do if you haven't got an imagination!!

...Wow! Well, as I write this, I have only been home from Greece for four days and although am now back into the boring old routine and miserable weather, I still can't help but feel relaxed and refreshed after a spectacular Greek Odyssey all of my own! My partner and I stayed in a small town called Pefkohori which is in Halkidiki, on the Kassandra peninsula. Halkidiki basically consists of a three prong peninsula, a little like a trident that sticks out of Greece! The other two peninsulas being Sithonia and Athos. Pefkohori is absolutely stunning. It is a small town which seems to have more of the local people around than actual tourists which is a nice, refreshing change. Advantages: Gorgeous weather, fantastic people, great scenery
Disadvantages: Could perhaps do with a bit of a tidy up in places ?!

...My boyfriend and I wanted a cheap holiday - a week in the sun where we could relax and do not a lot basically! We booked an internet deal through Thompson Holidays for £190 each (incl. flights, transfers and accomodation) for a week in Self Catering appartments. Our flights were from Birmingham to Thessaloniki (which is the nearest airport to Halkidiki). The flight took around 3 hours and we then had an hour and a half transfer from the airport to our resort - Fourka. Halkidiki is split into three penisulars, Kassandra, Sithonia and Mount Athos. These are near the north of main land Greece and are surrounded by the Aegean Sea. Kassandra and Sithonia are supposed to be the livliest of the three, although they are not busy or crowded. Advantages: amazingly gorgeous beaches!, cheap food, gorgeous weather, perfect for a peaceful break

...I went on holiday to Halkidiki in July 2003. WHERE I STAYED: I stayed in Kriopigi, at Krassa Anasacia studios which are rooms only. Very clean and really nice people work there, cleaners everyday and immaculate. You have to share 2 swimming pools with the studios below and above you, which are right by you anyway! The main part of town was just around the corner where there were lots of bars, restaurants and shops, also moped and car hire places. I would reccomend to couples only. THE BEACH The beaches there are unbelievable! gorgeous white sand, clear blue sea and really quiet and peaceful! THE BEACH WAS JUST DOWN THE ROAD BUT BECAUSE IT IS A HILL, THERE WAS A FREE BUS GOING UP AND DOWN ALL DAY! RESTAURANTS I loved the food over there, it was really cheap, restaurants are very clean and the Greek people dont try... Read review
