Advantages: village location, new management Disadvantages: quite a small public house
...A small but comfortable public house, located in the village of Fen Ditton Cambridge.
You have to watch carefully, as blink and you will miss it. It is tucked away on the corner, opposite the memorial statue, as you enter the village.
Although the competition is high for a small village ( three other pubs in the village) I have to
recommend the Kings head. Recently under new management, the kings head will offer a warm welcome, good food, and entertainment.
The beer is cold, and the atmosphere hot with local villagers always welcome to share a conversation with new comers.
On a week night, you will find it a cosy, but pleasant place to share a pint.
On the week-ends, usually a saturday evening you will be offered entertainment of high standard.
I saw an act there recently, " VOICE OF DEE ",

Advantages: Scenic and relaxing Disadvantages: too many new houses being built

The church should be your next place to wonder around as there is yet more interesting facts to be found inside and out. The Saxon cross in the graveyard dates back to the 7th century.
When you reach the clean, picturesque centre of the village...

Advantages: Wonderfully beautiful and serene place Disadvantages: Relatively hard to get to (even by Indian standards)
...Although transit to Rameswharam is rather demanding even from Tuticorin and over the magnificent Pambam bridge I would recommend a trip there to all travellers in Tamil Nadu.
It was wonderful to be in such a friendly temple complex and to be invited, though a non-hindu, to perform the puja in the 22 baths of the Agri Theertham. The cleansing took most of the morning and in the afternoon we walked along the spit of land to the ruined city of Dhanushkodi, this modern disaster site was moving and yet the whole area surrounding it and down to the final Southern-Eastern corner of India is very beautiful and peaceful.
Take a camera and some water as the fishing villages towards Dhanushkodi are as remote as they are picturesque....
