Advantages: Pleasant beach resort Disadvantages: Too many 'British' pubs
leading from that beach but don't expect to make it all the way to the town centre on it. For some reason, it ends abruptly in a brick wall which is conveniently hidden around a corner so you don't notice till you arrive at a sudden dead-end. What's that about? A quick back-track and then through the maze of streets towards the Balcon de Europa - the jewel in Nerja's crown.
The Balcon de Europa is the heart of the town. It's a palm and plane tree-lined promenade that leads from the 17th century Church of El Salvador to a semi-circular viewpoint on the cliff-top. Advantages: Quieter than your average resort. Good centre for touring Disadvantages: Not a great family venue
NERJANerja is an intimate resort on the Costa Del Sol in Andalusia. Unlike typical seaside venues, with huge playas, it is perched on cliffs above a series of small bays and beaches. Its longest beach, Burriana lies to the east and is a scenic stroll through the cliffs away.

Advantages: Easy to get to, UK friendly with a touch of spain Disadvantages: Not for the seasoned traveller
you can see it wriggle!
If you browse the brochures there are many styles and types of accomodation available from small selfcatering apartments to large exclusive villas, small pensions to your big all inclusive hotels. Nearly all the tour operators come to Nerja but don´t be afraid of booking it yourself.
Whilst the spanish like you to try their language, there is a lot of english spoken in Nerja. I would recommend trying just a few word, gracias and por favor, hablas Ingles? The spanish are much more willing to speak english if they think you respect their language.
I could write for hours on Nerja theres a lot to say. It has plenty of local attractions, the Caves being the most famous, traditional tourist pasttimes of horse and carriage rides, the little town train etc. and of course the beach. What it doesn´t readily have is ...
