Advantages: Beautiful, Italian, romantic Disadvantages: Very narrow roads and very hilly
...The Amalfi coast is possibly one of the most beautiful and romantic places in the world. We got engaged there, in Ravello, so it obviously holds a very special place in my heart. There are several towns which are beautiful to stay in. We were based in Positano which is split into 2 areas by a deep ravine. All hotels are ont eh cliff face with fantastic views out to sea. Positano can get a bit touristy in high season so I would recomend going in Spring time - late April through to early June. There are also many good places to eat to suit most budgets and a couple of very special hotels if your budget allows. Otherwise there are plenty of excellent guest houses which are clean and comfortable.
Amalfi itself is an historically interesting town and well worth a visit. As is Ravello on the top of the hills, famous for Wagner stories...

Advantages: Clean, well maintained, price is okay Disadvantages: Tiny rooms, very limited on space
...We stayed in the Kyriad la Villette in Paris for three nights and can only partly confirm the positive review written so far. First of all, although we had booked bed and breakfast over the internet, the receptionist insisted that the breakfast was not included and that the company (lastminute.com) was at fault selling this hotel room together with the breakfast. Advantages: Best of both worlds for walkers (and cyclists, cross country skiers and horse-riders) Disadvantages: If you don’t like walking (or cycling or skiing or riding) read no further

Fortunately for me, I am never happier than when juggling map, compass and hand-held GPS, but I have met other Inntravellers who find this aspect of the walks a significant irritant. However, I do know that Inntravel are working hard to improve this side of their service.

The main Inntravel brochure lists 87 holidays, of which 61 are walking, 9 cycling, and 17 other (fly-drive, rail, boat, etc.) There are also: -
- a short breaks brochure, similarly oriented to walking
- a winter holiday brochure, more focussed on cross-country skiing
- a horse-riding holiday brochure, the focus of which is self-explanatory.
Apart from the holiday hotels themselves, the brochures also list hotels suitable...
