Advantages: Relaxing or Active Disadvantages: None
...reading theory rather than enjoying the holiday. There nothing better than arriving in the Maldives with your open water certification card at the ready to explore the beautiful reefs. (Don't let our UK quarry waters put you off is only for 5 dives when training).
Other tips are taking some bottled water for the boat transfers, as some may be lengthy. e.g. if staying on Kuredu, I recommend that you pay extra for the sea plane transfers as the boat transfers are 5+ hours too long a transfer after a long flight. The seaplane is an experience in its self and well worth the cost about £80-£100. It took us 40mins on the seaplane.
Its worth taking a plug in repellent with you if you are normally bitten, however most islands are sprayed weekly for prevention. The Island shops sell a bottle of insect repellent (in a pink plastic bottle) and its...

Advantages: Pure Paradise Disadvantages: I really can't think of any
...INTRODUCTION
Me and my husband first visited the Maldives (Sun Island) in November 2004 for our Honeymoon and we found it pure paradise, since then we have been back to the Caribbean and it just doesn't measure up so we now save hard all year for 2 weeks in paradise.
We visited Kuredu Island for the last 2 weeks of May 2006 and as i have read many reviews to decide which island to visit this year i felt it time to write my own review on this fantastic island.
LOCATION
Kuredu island is located in the Lhaviyani Atoll in the North of the Maldives, it is one of the largest islands, we went on the 19th May 2006 for 2 weeks the weather was very hot approx 32(c) and above and the climate is very humid.
The Maldives does have a monsoon season so before booking it is advisable to do a little researh to confirm the best month to go...

Advantages: Snorkelling - amazing house reef Disadvantages: None - not for people who want the big plush pampered false hotel experience
...We stayed at Vilamendhoo from 7th October to 22nd October 2007. It was our 2nd time to the Maldives (went to Kuredu last year for our honeymoon), and we found this island completely different to our first Maldives experience.
The island is a reasonable size, and takes about 15-20 minutes to walk around it. All the accommodation looked pretty much the same, except for a few deluxe rooms (looked the same as the others), and a few rooms in the middle of the island (wouldn't recommend those).
We stayed in room 117 (we requested rooms 113 to 130 after reading other reviews) which was in a fantastic location, with a lovely beach outside the room and an excellent spot on the reef. The room was really close to the sunset bar (sitting out on the beach at night watching the shooting stars!), which was lovely, and wasn't far to the restaurant...
