Last year I went to America for the first time, in fact it was my first time flying, and with a nice long 10 hour flight I was not really looking forward to it, not because I was scared, but the fact that I thought I would be bored! But goold ole Richard Branson has got it right once again and has got his planes just right, all he needs to do now is sort out his trains!

Once we arrived at Heathrow airport we checked in, of which was a very quick process, I had expected to queue for ages, but due to the great work rate, and the number of staff working, within 5 - 10 minutes we were checked in and our luggage was gone.

After we wondered round for an hour or so, it was time to go and wait for boarding, once we got there my sister began to panick, and was in such a state we didnt think she would be able to fly. But the stewardess's were great, they were very helpful and managed to get her on the plane, and calmed down with us still docked!

Once in flight the service was brilliant! As soon as we were allowed to move around the stewardess's came over again to make sure everything was alright, later in the flight they were still checking!

The food on the flight was suprisingly nice, I had expected it to be the worst thing you can get, but it wasn't. The choice was very limited, but considering we were on a plane, flying over the Atlantic, I had no reason for complaint! We were constantly being asked if we wanted drinks, which was nice, as when you are up there you cant just go down the local shop!

The inflight entertainment was top-notch, there was a choice of about 10 films to watch, and either way they were different, so as you dont have to watch the same ones! There was also a good selection of TV recordings to watch, along with a recent recording of Sky news. There were also a number of music channels to listen to, that were repeat every 2 hours. The best part of the in flight entertainment was the Games that were available. there were a choice of about 10 nintendo games to play on your own personal screen, which include Mario 1 and Formula 1! The part i particualy liked was the tracking system, you could see how high you were, the outside temperature, the current position of the plane and the estimated arrival time (that was very accurate!) There wasnt really any other entertainment they could have given, as we had it all!

So with good service from before we got on the plane and when we got off at the other end, Virgin have hit the nail on the head as far as flying is concerned, and its a good Job too considering the cost of a ticket! We will definatly use them again!
