Ive only used Virgin Atlantic Airlines twice so far, both times to America, but I would say without hesitating that id definitely use them again. Especially for long flights. I guess it depends on what each individual has experienced, but from when Ive travelled with them Ive never had any problems and found them to provide a very good service. Free food and drinks throughout the flight, handy little travel pack aswell as free earphones to keep (unlike other airlines where you have to pay for them) and other services throughout the holiday package, it was well worth the money.

The travel pack was very useful by providing items such as mini toothpaste, toothbrush, socks, earphones and eye-mask. Sometimes people forget or don’t pack enough of those kind of things and I know I actually got some use from the pack. Also the discount card for phone-calls came in very handy and cheaper while on holiday abroad.

Being able to watch a variety of channels (movies, comedy, music and others) and choose from the films they regularly repeated, was great. Especially as you could watch them on your own small screen and flick through the channels if you wanted to, without being stuck watching only one film on a big screen, with everyone else.

I liked being able to choose from three dinners (one being a vegetarian option) on the menu and couldn’t really fault the food (for an airline) especially the desserts. There may have been small portions of everything, but at least you got a few courses (salad, cheese and crackers, bread roll and butter, main meal and dessert. Along with water and wine) and even an ice cream to eat while watching a film. Plus, of course, having drinks offered to you throughout the whole flight was very good, whether it was soft drinks or alcoholic ones! And it was nice to know that any food or drink I did have wasn’t charged as an extra and that it had already been paid for in the flight price.

Naturally, it would be better if the seats were more spacious and comfortable with more leg room – especially for long-haul flights - but then in Economy we cant really expect too much (and at least everyone gets a small pillow to sit on or lean against for a bit more comfort). Also, if you do have long legs it may be worth your while trying to request an exit seat, as these have no seats in front and therefore provide more space to stretch out. Unfortunately not everyone can afford to fly in Business or First class yet – but for now, in my opinion, Virgin Atlantic definitely offers the best economy service you could hope for!
