I have flown with Virginblue about ten times now. Whenever I want to fly anywhere in Australia I always look at the websites of Virginblue, Qantas and Jetstar. Virgin have always been cheaper apart from once. Flights are a lot cheaper mid-week and at ertain parts of the day so bear this in mind if you can be flexible with dates and times of travel. Booking is really simple, you just follow the prompts on their website (ww.virginblue.com.au) by entering your origin and destination places and dates, picking the flights you want and then putting in your credit card details. This will take you to an e-ticket which you print out and take to the airport with you when you go and you will also be sent a confirmation email. If the flight changes for any reason you will be sent these changes by email, this only happened to me once as the flight time changed by 10 minutes.
On the website you can sign up for their newsletter so when they have special deals and sales on they will email you. I have found these specials to be excellent, I got return flights from Sydney to Alice Springs (2.5 hour flight, about the equivalent of London to Spain) for $48 (less than £20) each way including all taxes.
Virgin are often cheaper than Qantas for domestic flights, partly because they do not serve meals, although you can buy food and drinks on the plane. These range from chocolate bars (which cost $2 or about 80p!) to a full breakfast for $12 or about £5). You can also buy some headphones so you can listen to their radio stations hat are broadcast on the plane. These cost $2 and you can use them every time you fly with Virgin. You also get an inflight magazine with some articles, features on the destinations virginblue fly to and some puzzles. I’ve found this keeps me occupied for most of the flight and I usually take a book or something as well. The leg room is pretty standard for economy flights and comparable to all the other airlines I have flown with, I have never had any problems with it and found it to be adequate. The longest I have ever flown with Virginblue is about four hours and I found them comfortable, you can recline your seats as well.
In all the times I have flown with Virginblue I have never been delayed or had any problems with luggage. The check-in process has been really quick and easy, luggage allowance is 20kg and you just need some photo ID (as it is a domestic flight but I usually use my passport anyway). The staff have always been really helpful, friendly and approachable. All in all I would say Virginblue is a great airline to fly with as it is cheap with no frills and it gets you there safely and quickly.
Advantages: Cheap airline, great deals, excellent customer service Disadvantages: The full range on menu never available, hard seats and have to be quick to pick up deals.
...discovered a listing for the Virgin Blue (VB) airline, which I didn’t think Ciao would have as this airline runs internal flights around Australia and was most excited as I have travelled with these more times than I can count while I have been backpacking around the land down under.

CHECK IN & CUSTOMER SERVICE
The Trolley Dolleys at VB are a strange breed they look like something out of Hitlers Über Race – i.e they are all perfectly formed, tall blonde (really I haven’t seen a brunette in all my flights) specimens of the human race - which can be quite depressing when your clad in track bottoms, a vest covered in greasy sun lotion marks, are wearing flip flops and ...

Advantages: Great prices, easy online booking Disadvantages: None that I could find
Virgin Blue have not been flying in Australia for many years, but my experiences of them is pretty good. It is easy to book onto their flights, they are cheap and I find them quite comfortable.
Customer Service
Like any cheap airline, thet are not great at customer service, but what do you expect. Their staff are friendly and do their job in a profesional manner.
Punctuality
Their flights have never been late for me and they have always landed ... ...One group of passengers are offloaded and the next group are put on.
Comfort
I have always found there to be enough space for short flights and the leather seats have always been comfortable. Don't know if I would like to travel longer distances on their planes though.
Ease of Booking
It's so easy! Just book online in minutes.
Price
Fantastic - I have never paid more than £50.00 to fly from Sydney to northern destinations. Overall
An easy ...

Virgin Blue is Australia's cheap domestic airline - it also flies to short haul destinations such as New Zealand and the Pacific. It's OK, but no more. But with these prices, what do you expect?
Virgin Blue is certainly a cheap option for travelling in Australia. With the vast distances to be covered, if you don't relish the prospect of sitting on a coach or train for two days, look into flying Virgin Blue. It's often about the same cost, or even ... ...so more convenient if time is an issue. Perth - Sydney was A$189 - around £75 (four hours). I'm not aware of any other airlines offering domestic flights, except Qantas, which is much more expensive. Be aware that as with any cheap airline, prices vary dramatically - they seem to go up very steeply during the few days before you travel, so don't leave booking till the last minute. If I'd booked a week earlier, I'd have saved A$20 - but another traveller ...

Advantages: Cheap, efficient, easy to book from the UK Disadvantages: None that I found!
...Alice Springs and then flew Virgin Blue from Alice to Sydney - and then Sydney back to Brisbane.
It wasn't until a friend recommended Virgin Blue that we realised we could fit in everything we wanted to do - and still stay in budget. It was scarily easy to find the flight we wanted and to book on line, though it is definitely worth booking as far in advance as you can. Was just like booking an EasyJet flight around the UK.
We booked online directly ... ...as travelling on certain days was cheaper than others.
Once we got there everything went according to plan too. Friendly and helpful staff, flight was on time, plane was clean. I really could not fault it and will definitely fly with Virgin Blue next time I go to Oz. ...

...airline and to Richard Branson's virgin group, but it appears they dont care if people have complaints, since they do ABSOLUTELY nothing.
When I tried to complain to the head office, they tried to have banished from the area arrested by Brisbane police. I would NEVER EVER fly this airline or any of their affaliates, consdering my experience, its a wonder they exist. POOR SERVICE ...

Advantages: everything really Disadvantages: none at all
I have used Canberra Airport (or Brindabella) three times in the last year. Twice for national flights and once to go to Hong Kong. Every time, I was there, I enjoyed the experience.
When you first arrive, you see a lovely entrance and a big lake outside.
Flights
Several big airlines fly in and out of Canberra including Qantas (international), VirginBlue (over Australia), Ansett and Hazelton (state).
The Airport
The Airport is almost in the middle of Canberra. It is situated near the river. It is directly beside an RAAF Base and has roads and rail-links all around it.
Car parking is $13AUS a day the last time I visited, this hasn?t changed in quite a while so it is probably the same. You can pay more ($17.50AUS) to get premium parking facing the main terminal, I think this is a waste of time unless you really are busy ...
Advantages: good deals to melbourne, some cheap flights Disadvantages: no shops, not alot of flight choice, doesn't go many places
-in desks in a small space located on the far right end of the airport, I think they could have a few more desks if they wanted but it's probably not needed as the airport only caters for a small amount of pasengers.
The four major airlines that are operating in Australia use Mackay Airport, they are QantasLink, Jetstar, VirginBlue and Tigers Airways.
QantasLink flies to airports in Brisbane, Cairns, Gladstone, Rockhampton and Townsville from Mackay. Jetstar only flies to Brisbane, Tiger Airways only flies to Melbourne and finally VirginBlue only goes to Brisbane and Sydney via this airport.
The airport is only a regional airport so it doesn't do any international flights, and the airport is open seven days a week from 5.15am to 9pm. The facilities available in the terminal are Bistro & Bar where you can buy hot food, snacks ...
