The Virgin Cinema in Belfast was purchased by the UGC Cinema group a couple of years ago, but to be honest the only thing that has changed is the name over the door. They even still sell Virgin Cola!
The Cinema itself is large, spacious and well laid out, with eight different screens, three downstairs and five on an upper level. Although the Screens vary in size none are tiny, and also none are too cavernous so you should always be able to see the picture fine, and at the same time not get deafened by the audio. The Cinema is always kept clean and has all the standard seating and beverage holders.
The Cinema is moderately priced, at £4.60 a film, but Students with a valid card can get in for £3.20, making for fairly cheap night out. As with all cinemas the ‘refreshments’ are ridiculously over priced but then in my experience every cinema has the same trait. On a more positive side, they do have a wide selection of sweets and some hot food such as hot dogs etc and they have a medium sized coffee bar area in the upper dining area.
The staff have always been fairly helpful and pleasant, and the cinema plays most of the larger releases, although anyone looking for subtitled French drams or art house films should probably try the Queens Film Theatre.

Have to disagree with you on some points. Firstly a correction there are 10 screens, 5 on each floor. You said it wasn't suitable for disabled, but I think it is one of the most accessable cinemas in Belfast. There is a lift to bring wheelchairs up the steps on the way in, another lift to bring you between floors in the Cinema and spaces for wheelchairs in the actual cinemas themselves. There is also an infra-red hearing loop system for those with bad hearing.
I would agree with you on prices at the shop, but as you said its like this at most cinemas, so I wouldn't hold that against them. I have always found there to be a calm and relaxed athmosphere and it is my favourite cinema in Belfast because I believe their tickets are cheaper than the local competition.
