In December 1999, Virgin Atlantic launched their flights to Cape Town, having flown only to Johannesburg in the past.
When booking our holiday in February 2000, Virgin Atlantic were most accommodating and flexible in that we flew into Johannesburg and out of Cape Town, giving us the opportunity to visit both places.
Before we even boarded the plane, our 3 year old was presented with a handy back-pack filled with goodies, a cap, pez and so on. When you are 3 years old, this type of treatment is certainly an investment in the future! The child was then given a goody box with a snack in it to eat before the dinner trolley came around, in fact she was asleep by then allowing her parents to relax and enjoy their meal.
Throughout the flight, the hostesses were concerned about the childs safety and comfort and continously provided the passengers with refreshments and entertainment. It helps that each seat has its own TV screen and games so one can watch whatever one enjoys and tthere is not a continous flickering of an overhead projection.
We arrive after 10 hours flying, relaxed and happy, how many airlines can claim that their passengers are not stressed after a long flight like this?
