As a Yank living in England, I have had to fly back and forth many times. Most of the time I was living within a very tight budget, so I flew any carrier that happened to have the lowest price at the time I was travelling. Let me tell you, there is a HUGE difference between airlines. I found that Virgin Atlantic had more room, better food, and better service than any other airlines. Plus, their entertainment system is by far the best. It'll keep the kids quiet and help pass the long hours. The great thing is that now they run all kinds of special offers and are usually one of the best deals around. The drawback is no frequent flier program for the cheap seats, but the lower price usually takes care of that.
