I went with Virgin Holidays to Mauritius in April this year and as far as travel is concerned I have no issues whatsoever. The legroom in the economy seat was decent; the food was just as good as those served by BA and I have found Virgin staff to be more attentive than BA staff.
However, be careful when you book with Virgin Holidays. If you are a Virgin Atlantic Flying Club member, you qualify for 10% discount with Virgin Holidays. I was never made aware of this when I booked my Mauritius trip (I became a Flying Club member prior to the trip), and again I was not made aware of this when I booked my second trip to Orlando later this year.
Subsequent to this I called up Virgin Holidays and they have agreed to a refund. As far as I'm concerned this is unacceptable practice as they are cheating the customers. I even told the call centre staff that I am a Flying Club member but she did nothing. So please do raise this if you do decide to travel with Virgin.
Also, if anyone can share any insight as to whether Virgin Holidays combines the online 5% discount with the Flying Club 10% discount that would be great.
