Advantages It goes to the right place. Ish
Disadvantages Crowded, expensive
Peter Branson what were you thinking of. The railways in the UK are useless and need billions in investment. There are no fast tracks, the tracks that exist were built 100 years ago and are in the wrong place. Want to go across country, go via London.
No thanks.I used Virgin trains routinely, but not any more. On the mainline service from Liverpool to London, they suck. Crowded, unpleasant, old and with a pricing structure that is positively Venetian in its complexity. I can fly to Geneva AND get a train half way across Switzerland more cheaply than I can take a train in my own country.
Advice to rail users: go by plane.

The name is Sir Richard Branson. Yes you can get cheap tickets, especially when booking in advance, and they're even cheaper when you travel off-peak. May I suggest you look at other reviews on Train Companies, not essentially just Virgin Trains, to see what you could include? If you do decide to add some more info, please tell me, and i'll be happy to re-rate. Ian
