Virgin trains are not all bad and I should know i use them from the northwest to London at least once a month. The service is good and nine times out of ten they are on time or even - gasp of horror - early! The staff are helpful and friendly and the prices are good especially if you book early enough. And think of the alternative coach = and all those traffic jams and the journey taking far longer so why are you all complaining alll the time! The buffet service is expensive but so are motorway service stations! The choice of food is good and getting more inventive as time goes on.

Advantages: Pleasent Staff, always there to help! Disadvantages: No leg room, very dated, uncomfortable seating, and not enough space to put your luggage.
