It was a while back since i had been to Santa Ponsa. Infact it was 1990 when i had last visited this splendid island but, it was far from splendid on my return there. My first time there was spent in the Carolina Apartments which were basic but a great family base for myself, my husband and my two children. It was our first family holiday. Since then i had another daughter and when she turned two, i decided another family holiday was needed. I opted for the Vista Club Apartments which looked friendly and family orientated. Little did i know what i was getting myself into. On arrival the room was not ready. My family and i were left sitting in reception for two hours with herds of teenagers tormenting my older two children who were 10 and 12 at the time. Finally, when we dragged our suitcases up to our room, the bed sheets had not been changed on any of the beds! What a start to a holiday! The pool area looked clean enough. When i brought my two year old daughter to the kids pool, i noticed alot of cats lingering around it. That night i had to stay in nursing my daughter as she kept getting violently sick. This was due to the cat urine in the pool. It ruined the holiday from the start. As if things couldn't get worse, my husband sprained his angle climbing the steps up to the complex. The complex was based at the top of a mountain side and the only way to get up was to climb that 'stairway to heaven'! Yeah right! As well as my personal travesties i noticed under 18 year olds being served alcohol at the bar. I was not impressed. The entertainers looked like they'd rather be somewhere else and to be honest i was not entertained in the slightest for the two weeks i was there. The Vista Club disillusioned my memories of a fantastic Santa Ponsa i once knew. All i got on holidays was a pissy pool, an injured husband and a band of drunk teenagers harrassing my two older children. What can i say? The Vista Club was my hell on earth.
