Vitalis Hotel, Munich

Advantages: nice and tidy rooms, good service, yummy breakfast
Disadvantages: not that easy to reach without a car

...This year in March we stayed for a weekend in the DERAG Hotel Prinzessin Elisabeth in Munich. (4 stars) We found the hotel over the internet: http://www.deraghotels.de/en/ -------------------- room: The double bed room was really nice and tidy. Bathroom was big and clean with a bath and shower. Towles and hairdryer were provided. We also had a little kitchen with dishes, microwave and kettle. In front of the double bed was a little living area, with couch, two chairs and a little table. Every room is equipped with: high speed interent access and TV ---------------------- costs: double: 110 Euro per night including breakfast. ...Equipment: The Etap hotels can be compared with Mc Donald or Burger King very well. One gets off, one can be sure, what expects one and natural the other way round also, what one mustn't expect from Aix-la-Chapelle to Zwickau -- identical where. As a Low budget hotel the Etap confines itself to the essential. The rooms dispose a basin, shower, toilet, desk, television set and alarm clock, of a big French bed, another sleep possibility for a third person in form of a bunk bed. The Etap in Munich stands out due to the separation from shower and toilet and the available air conditioner in comparison with other Etaps. Despite proximity to the main street many driven on the rooms are quietly and well isolated for closed window. ...resort, about 100km south, but there are far better options across the border in Austria, which are equally accessible. In summer, King Ludwig's Castle at Neuschwannstein is a practically un-missable day-trip, if you can spare the time. GETTING AROUND: The best means of exploring Munich can be summed up in two words: Public Transport. Munich's train-network, which is separated into U-Bahns & S-Bahns, is clean, efficient and very reasonably priced. Taxi's, as elsewhere in Germany, are also very reliable. WHERE TO STAY: Like most cities of this size, Munich has a comprehensive array of accommodation on offer. The huge and grand Bayerischer Hof, founded in 1841, is located in the centre of the city, and is arguably one of the loveliest hotels in the world.
