Stayed here during a weekend trip to the big apple in January 07. First impressions are good from the ouside and once in reception they continue. Once you pass reception and enter the lifts to your floors it is a different matter. Firstly nobody tells you how to use the lift properly (cue 10 mins messing about pressing buttons and inserting cards in different combinations). Once out of the lift things start to look a bit dissappointing, loose wallpaper, dirty walls and carpets etc. It carries on inside the room, VERY small room and bathroom (my garden shed really is bigger than the bathroom) although the bathroom was spotless. The pictures on the website really do exagerate the truth a little, but as we were only there 3 nights we thought we could cope. On the plus side it's location is excellent, 10 minutes walk and you can be at a lot of the sites (including rockerfeller centre, empire state, times square and all 3 of the big department stores). Room service was poor (over 20 minutes late and you can get a better/cheaper breakfast just around the corner), view from the room was a brick wall and metal chimney and the concierge often looked like he could not be bothered. On the whole I would not reccommend this hotel, try alternatives of the Marriott (30 seconds walk away) or its sister hotel the W on Times Square (far supoerior if budget allows).
