The first time I went to a Wagamama noodle bar I was more or less forced there by a friend who said that she had a 2 for 1 meal voucher which would make it a cheaper evening for two cash strapped students. Even though she was raving about the place I was not convinced when she described it as a canteen style noodle bar...hmmm! It turned out I did not have much choice in the matter however, so we ended up meeting in Camden Town at around 7 on a Friday night. This, might I add, may not be the ideal time or day to go to Camden Town if you are simply after a decent meal, a glass of wine and a chat with a friend.
From the outside the restaurant looked very bright and maybe slightly clinical. When we entered we were immediately greeted by a hostess who took us straight to a table even though it seemed very busy. The seating arrangements ...

Advantages: Food is tasty and usually comes promptly. Disadvantages: Large cost compared to amount of food, not brilliant seating
Tasty, but expensive.
Main meals sometimes contain good quantities of meat, some do not.
Price does not seem to always reflect this.
I paid nearly 10 quid for a Wagamama special ramen meal and received 1 prawn in it, on asking for more prawns I was told 1 prawn was the amount you get. You apparently get 2 if you order the seafood variety. Absolute rip off.
2 tiny side dishes are often more expensive than a whole main meal, whilst being generally tiny in comparison. Get 3 main meals between 2 people to be properly filled up and save some money at the same time.
Usually good service and a nice enough atmosphere, only gripe in this respect is the benches have no back to the seats so when you're full and want a little support... you're in trouble.
If they lowered the prices of the side dishes a little and provided a bit more meat in ...

Advantages: Tasty food, good amount of serving Disadvantages: wooden chairs
If you are looking for tasty fresh food, Wagamama is the place. My local Wagamama is nowadays doing 2 for 1 on main courses, which is quite a good offer since the main courses start from almost 9 pounds.I would have probably never bothered to go there since i am not a big fan of Thai-Japanese cusine, but the coupon did the trick.
My visit was a memorable one. Not only is the food good, the service is exceptional. Since it was my first time, the waiter very politely explained to me on how to order and was always available at hand whenever i had difficulty understanding the menu. The food was yummy and all the ingredients tasted fresh. I ordered a King Prawn and Vegetable curry with lemon rice and was so delighted with my food. I never knew this cusine could be so awesome! The best part was the generous amount of serving they gave ...
